Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month
- You won't find better batteries at this price
- Protection circuit works as it should
- Dimensions with PCB are very close to unprotected cells
For the money, there are no cons.
I used 8 of these to build a 4.8ah li-ion battery pack for my Roomba (2x 14.8v 2400mah packs in parallel). The roomba charged them up no problems and the protection circuits kicked in so the roomba would not over charge them. The batteries performed very well, giving a 2+ hour runtime on the roomba. The total cost was ~ $30 which is what you would pay for a cheap NIMH roomba replacement pack, but the capacity is much better.
I was concerned about finding legitimate 18650 cells as I hear there are a lot of "recycled" and "counterfit" cells out there - however I can confirm that DX has a trustworthy source of Trustfire batteries and I wouldn't hesitate to buy these again.
