Pretty close imitation – Stress-Relieve Copper Magic Slinky Rainbow Spring Toy Reviews

It's pretty decently built. I've expected less quality. The coil is not deformed. It's shiny.
Too expensive for something that's not original. There are weak oxide markings periodically positioned on the coil, probably from the extrusion stress or something. They aren't very visible, though, but keep the spring in a dry environment just in case. Maybe a dab of machine oil here and there. The worst con is that this thing doesn't walk down average stairs as original Slinky. It's too stiff because this one has twenty coils less than the original which has 98 of them. Less coils with roughly the same overall dimensions result in a stiffer spring that could walk only down very narrow staircases.
The advertised dimensions are not correct. These are the measured values: - outer diameter ~6.82 cm - inner diameter ~6.3 cm - coil cross section 0.075 x 0.24 cm - height ~5.85 cm - mass is just a bit over 200 g These dimensions are close to the ones of the original Slinky.
Although it's not easy to force it to do "the walk", you can pretty much do everything that the original can. Longitudinal and transverse waves demonstration, standing waves, playing with it in your hands, different shapes, "laser sound", etc. If you can't get a hold of the original because the postage expenses are shamefully high (non US residents!), buy this one.
