Finally got it! Works realy well! It even plated the bare copper where the iron started to peal. I have a Portasol butane iron and it's heads are pretty expensive and hard to find. This stuff is great!
Small amount, but looks like it will last at least ten uses. It is priced a bit high.
Hard to get the right temp. The stuff needs to melt, bubble a bit, but not burn and blacken.
Make sure to ventilate your working space! Releases ammonia gas when used!
Not really a con but it comes in a taller cylinder container rather than the flatter pebble shape one pictured.
Starts to melts in to a gooey liquid when used. If the goo starts to blacken, you're too hot. I actually poured it out and continued to use it so I wouldn't melt the rest of the product. Helps if you add a bit of solder to the mix and -gently- rub on the goo with a small screwdriver. You dont want to remove the iron plating. (The screwdriver got plated as well :)
A great way to restore your dead soldering heads! I little bit goes a long way so it's worth it!
