Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:less than 1 day
From the day of my order(4th March 2009) it needs 15 working days to arrive to my City.
But because of the lame postman, I received the letter to take the package three days later.
It arrive at my City on 24th March 2009 and I got the letter at 27th March 2009.
Hence I need to fetch the parcel myself at the post office.
No custom fee.
It have the look of Esky Lama V3.
It look very beautiful with the colorful flashing led.
All was in good condition.
It have strong lift!
Oh ya, it really flies!
It really a "READY TO FLY", as I fly it out of the box.
I guess DX team charge and test it before shipped it out.
I've crashed it quite hard, fortunately it can stands the crash.
The canopy is neatly built.
The charger is 220V which is usable at my country.
But the pin is not my country type.
Fortunately I have an extension wire which have the multi-adapter and I can easily plug it in.
The remote control looks like esky remote control.
The trimmer really works and sensitive.
It fix the helicopter within just a seconds.
The antenna is long enough and flexible.
The remote have some hole for us to slid in a strap so we can hung it on our neck while playing.
Very good so you won't drop it.
It really a "RADIO CONTROLLED".
I afraid if it was IR, but gladly it is using RF.
There are spare tail blades and some screw. But I bet, and trying hard not to use it. ;)
The label have BIG "DX" logo even though I've put SKU1888.
The label also have the return address of DX.
But I'm happy it doesn't have DX website url coz people won't buy from me again...
That's the use of SKU 1888 isn't it? ;)
The both main blades is not aerofoil.
It looks cheap and not durable.
The tail blades facing upward, I know this is for moving forward and backward, but it doesn't have the real look of helicopter anymore.
I am quite sure, it not using brushless motors.
There are two main motors which is unpolished galvanized and look very cheap and old.
The tail motor also not brushless, unpolished galvanized and look very cheap and old.
No servo, the forward action is achieve using tail motor while the stabilizer is achieved using the counter rotation of the co-axial main blades.
The throttle stick is very loose.
It uses EIGHT AA size batteries to operate, fortunately I am using nickle cadmium battery.
The battery of the helicopter is Nickel Hydride.
Made of hydroxide, mean you need to discharge completely before you can recharge or it will shorten your battery life.
Worth the price compare to the same 3 channel helicopter. Sadly no working servo, hence this is really look like a toy.
But a toy as I said, It not so easy to control. It still need skills like playing with real RC helicopter that have working swash plates, servo, etc.
Worth to buy for the price.
Sure a lot of fun playing with this.
Your journey to become a heli flier started with this heli, like me. ;)
