Really white, really bright, a bit unrelliable

posted by stevee123 on 04/04/2013 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
The color is really white. It doesn't colour the environment in undesirable way, like the other bulbs. It is really bright. Well, not like the 50W Halogen (somewhat 950 lumen), but still bright enough.
    Cons:
It's not very reliable. I bought 6 of them, and 3 out of 6 started to flash after less then one year. It's because one diode go...

    Well built and good light

posted by armandle on 03/04/2013 Certified Owner

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
The product feels good, looks like the material its made of is satisfying. I replaced 3 50 watt halogen bulbs with 3 of these. The light seems to be slightly brighter with the LEDs. The light color is a bit whiter that the halogen was, but it is of a good c...
    Cons:
I think the price can still be somewhat lower. Packaging didn't have enough protection on the bulbs, although all came just fine.

    Pros:
The price for this light bulb is very cheap, and its light is very powerful how it said in description. I use, two of this, in a small bathroom and it's clearly light up.
    Cons:
The problem is the bad quality of build, because only next five month, one of two light bulb begun to flash, it's seem a strobo...

    Pros:
Just mount it near 50W halogen and you will barely see the difference. Good color. Good angle. Strong enough light output. Does not heats up. Low power consumption.
    Cons:
Out of 11 I own 2 failed after 6 months and both same week. Failure likely caused by defected leds and poor quality thermal pas...

    My first LED bulbs

posted by ChrSch on 01/06/2013 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
    - quite bright, currently replaces 35-50W bulbs - instant light - wide angle, no single spot - aluminium heatsink - no glowing when turned off - both units of equal light temperature
    Cons:
    - one of two broken after ~6 months, thought they would last longer - light could be a bit warmer, but it's okay

    Pros:
These are nice replacements for the 35 w to 50 w halogens I had in my kitchen. Not too bright but much brighter than the yellow 35 w halogens I had before. Also at 5 w it's 7 times less electricity used. The colour is nice as it is not too blue or yellow m...
    Cons:
