Works as advertised
Plastic part of the DVI plug screws look flimsy and cheap, they're quite big so plugging this big adapter which in turn needs another cable to be plugged into it might cause a lot of encumberance between plugs and cables (for instance behind a computer)
Allows using a PC monitor with only DVI to connect to DVI peripherals (allowed me to run my PS3 on a very cheap full monitor, which cost me one fifth of the price of a TV at the time).
Useful if you already have an HDMI cable lying around.
But if you don't have one, you might prefer using a cable with HDMI and DVI headers.
