Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
    - Headbands are detachable without much hassle (for washing etc.) . Top band can be removed if you don't like it. - Bands are long enough to fit a helmet - comfortable to wear - each of the three 5mm leds has it own resistor - can be unscrewed without much ...
    Cons:
    - Not that bright, "luxeon" led is direct driven via a resistor (MTE 5 Mode Rebel or KD 1 AAA are brighter (ceiling b...

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
    - 2 independent channels - NO wallwart or powerbrick - Takes any voltage from 100 to 250 VAC - 1A charging current per channel - small and compact
    Cons:

Little light that can take a beating

posted by 8Nils on 01/20/2008 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
    - Built like a tank: Feels like quite a solid chunk of aliminum in your hand - Seems watertight to me: Suction test on both ends positive. Will try to dunk it sometime - Plastic spacer at head end of the tube can be easily removed if not necessary for your ...
    Cons:
    - Default drop-in not that bright: About 1.5 Watts power consumption... However I fried my driver while testing it with a varia...

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
    - Testing with my Aurora WF-800 Q5 I got about 4.5 hours runtime. Since it consumes 0.5 to 0.6Amps the rating seems to be correct - Fit in both: WF-800 (easily) and 502B (tight but still ok)
    Cons:
    - Not really sure about undervoltage protection. Left it running in my 502B for over 12 hours and still got some current flow. ...

Good build quality - 4W power consumption

posted by 8Nils on 01/20/2008 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
    - Double o-rings on battery tube connections - All o-rings lubed - flawless black finish - 4W regulated power cosumption . Measured 0.5 to 0.6 A thus fresh batteries 2*4.2V * 0.5A = 4.2 Watt low batteries 2*3.6V * 0.6A = 4.2Watt So keeping driver loss and m...
    Cons:
    - Plastic reflector - Head doesn't unscrew (Bezel does so you can still change the LED if you like) - Cree rings (all cree ligh...
