    Nice tiny little mercury switches

posted by AlphageekYVR on 03/04/2014 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
These are about the smallest mercury switches I've ever come across. All tested just fine and they switch very discretely - virtually no bouncing that I can detect on the scope. They appear well-made and will be very useful in everything from model rocket p...
    Cons:
The leads could be a bit thicker and a bit longer. There is no indication of max switching current or voltage. If you use thi...

    Great value BUT...

    Pros:
This is a very good assortment of 1W zener diodes and covers the full range from 3.3V to 36V. These are high-quality glass zeners, individually packaged and labelled each set of 10 in it's own labelled plastic ziplock bag.
    Cons:
Well, TWO of the 26 numbers (1N4726 / 3.7V, 1N4727 / 3.0V) are in fact NOT zener diodes at all! They are fast-recovery rectifi...

A must-have tool for CERTAIN applications

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
Light-weight tool; great (if soft) cutting edge in a well-machined package with very nice comfortable knurling and finish. Cutting edge is very sharp... and perhaps even a bit too acute a slope (i.e. very small angle). This might actually be a CON for som...
    Cons:
I'm docking it two stars on ease of use for the rather idiotic design flaw of not being able to screw the handle to the other s...

    Really excellent value

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
This thing is as bright as advertised, and lemme tell you, that is BRIGHT! I accidentally looked at it for a split second and I had retina burn for 5 minutes. Seriously, it is so bright, that for my application (above bed reading light) I had to insert a ...
    Cons:
Really, none but I would have like better terminations for the power leads. I suspect the pads (gold-plated!) on the strip (on...

    Good for the price but

    Pros:
Nice compact little laser with two pretty-good mounts (one for rail, one for barrel). It also ships with both a click switch and a pressure switch with cable which is nice. Includes all the hex keys you'll need to mount and adjust aim. general build and ...
    Cons:
The rail mount is a bit long for some handguns. For instance on my Walther CPS CO2 pellet pistol, the rail mount sticks out ab...

Would be an awesome deal if the values were labelled!

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
Well, 15 values times two of each for $5.50 is a good deal. The trimmers themselves are pretty standard.
    Cons:
This is unbelievable to me but nothing in this set was labelled! I'm not kidding... even the pots themselves do not have a val...

    Great, inexpensive, good quality

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:less than 1 day

    Pros:
Good luck finding heat-shrink tubing for less... or even double... or triple the price. FWIW, I received 5.2 meters - BONUS!
    Cons:
See picture. It ships all scrunched up stuffed into the bag and looks like a dog's breakfast. Not a big deal because the kink...

    Great price, but

posted by AlphageekYVR on 02/01/2013 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:less than 1 day

    Pros:
First of all, it's cheap. It's reasonably well-made except as noted below. Ships with a gasket for mounting on smaller tubes. Getting my Ultrafire WF-501B light on and off is a snap (literally!). Pretty sure that others here are wrong and that it will s...
    Cons:
It REALLY needs a washer on both ends of the screw. I'll add them myself and blacken the washers with a permanent marker. No ...

    Almost perfect

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:less than 1 day

    Pros:
For three bucks, this is a super good deal. The blade is super sharp (as it should be) and shaves off just the right amount for most things. Feels solid and well made. Next order I'll buy a few more to give to family and friends.
    Cons:
Only one thing. The blade is a single so if you're left-handed you have to pop it out and reverse it. This is unfortunate for...

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
If you need an assortment of small-value ceramic caps this is a very good buy.
    Cons:
Not a conn, really but be aware these are very small value ceramics and you will need to buy some other assortment with higher ...
