    Good for tiny screws

posted by AriMc on 05/06/2011 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
The bits and the unit are fairly well manufactured and are useful in real work. The unit is small and contains a lot of tools in one compact piece no larger than a pen.
    Cons:
The top cap and the base seem to have a little different standard threadings. The cap seems quite loose until you reach the ver...

    Worth the price

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
Completely made of metal. Opens easily allowing you to change to curls after they are filled with solder.
    Cons:
The bottom grip surface is made of only three tiny rubber patches. This makes the unit a little shaky when you poke the solderi...

    It's OK, not great

posted by AriMc on 05/06/2011 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
It works reasonably well. Compared to the original short aerial of my Buffalo AP this aerial gives a signal boost of about 5-10 dBm.
    Cons:
The connector is a bit thick. Depending on your hardware it will either fit or not. I had to disassemble my AP and cut out litt...

    Very good value

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
Overall this is a very good product. The phone snaps in very well into the plastic frame and all the buttons are still well accessible through the holes. The holes on the back fit perfectly making the camera and loudspeaker operable. The front and back of t...
    Cons:
The locking strap on top of the case partly blocks both the micro-USB and earphone/microphone connectors so you can not use tho...

    Very good and modifyable

posted by AriMc on 04/12/2011 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
Reasonably bright light, equals roughly a 60-75 watt traditional bulb. Materials are excellent and the parts manufactured to high quality. It is easy to disassemble for inspection and there is room inside the case for your own connectors for example. All ne...
    Cons:
The connecting cable is a bit short but luckily it is easy to replace completely (see the 'pros' above). The LED-emitter which ...

    Decent unit with some drawbacks

posted by AriMc on 03/11/2011 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
Apart from the base and coil holder, all parts are made of metal. Assembled properly with bolts and nuts so it is easy to take apart and adjust.
    Cons:
The unit is a bit too narrow. Common 75 mm wide solder coils are just a bit too wide to fit in the unit. Mine was poorly assem...

The base and cable are OK, the antenna is rubbish

posted by AriMc on 11/25/2010 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
The base and the connecting cable are quite ok, although a the magnet could be stronger to hold better in a moving vehicle.
    Cons:
The actual antenna seems to be totally useless (see below).

    Works but isn't perfect

posted by AriMc on 10/03/2010 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
Works as expected with my Treo 650. Charges the phone and syncs OK.
    Cons:
There is no hotsync button on the cable like there is in the original so you'll need to initiate syncs from the phone's applica...

Excellent video capture card for Linux

posted by AriMc on 10/02/2010 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
Works perfectly with Linux (Debian 5 in my case). Video quality is OK for the price.
    Cons:
The BNC-connectors available in the card are rare and most cameras come with RCA-connectors instead so you'll need either addit...

Working reader but poor mechanical construction

posted by AriMc on 09/18/2010 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
This card reader works as promised at least with the cards and USB-drive I tried. All card slots show as just a single drive instead of 3-5 in Windows. This is the first card reader I've seen to do this and I think it's a good thing. Price is good.
    Cons:
Mechanical quality leaves a lot to be desired. The case is made of very thin plastic. There are no inside threads in the insta...
