    Good replacement probes

posted by Cubytus on 09/09/2013 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
These probes are well designed and seem sturdy enough despite the low price.
    Cons:
No groove near the end of the tip. It's a shame as it doesn't cost more to have one. Insulating sheathing and banana plug are a...

    It sticks and clings!

posted by Cubytus on 07/26/2013 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
Very, very sticky. That's why I bought it for. Holds up in hot conditions pretty well.
    Cons:
Sticks so well that foam can rip off in the middle.

    Ingenious keychain

posted by Cubytus on 07/26/2013 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
Watertight. Has a roomy interior where you can store... small stuff that need to be kept dry, for example caffeine or Tylenol pills for those long days at the office. Sturdy enough to support daily and even rough usage. Machined aluminum is beautiful and...
    Cons:
None that I can think of.

    Don't buy this underwhelming battery

posted by Cubytus on 07/26/2013 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
Cheap. Fits well within the original spot. Really, nothing more.
    Cons:
Extremely low capacity and imprecise reporting. After about 6 months of daily usage in my 3GS, I can confirm it drops from 100%...

Good DC converter to be used in different settings

posted by Cubytus on 07/26/2013 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
Soldering pads are pre-tinned and sport a large hole, making it easy to connect if you don't change your mind afterwards. Has a nice, smooth bottom that allowed me to use foam double-sided tape to place it in a box.
    Cons:
Build quality seems very variable. I got two, one of them was fine, the other one had an obviously faulty build as it heated up...

    Replace your lost temperature probe

posted by Cubytus on 07/26/2013 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
Cheap, very cheap replacement for the stock temperature sensor many multimeters come with. Seems precise enough, comparable to original ones.
    Cons:
Flimsy, but not worse than the original heat probes.

    Elegant wire holder

posted by Cubytus on 07/26/2013 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
The size is just right so as to be stuck on surfaces without getting in the way. You never know where you will find the use for a cable holder
    Cons:
The double-sided foam sticker is WEAK. Even on a flat surface, is wire is hanging down, it will eventually come loose, which de...

    Simple and efficient voltage regulator

posted by Cubytus on 07/26/2013 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
Very good voltage dimmer for resistive loads. Uses very good quality components, with easily available datasheets.
    Cons:
This is not a thermostat as it has no way of knowing what the ambient temperature is. When connected to a baseboard heater, it...
