    WOW these are BRIGHT

posted by Culverjoe on 11/24/2012 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
I was blown away with how incredibly bright these bulbs are! Are they 180 Lumens? of course not. But they are at least 4 times brighter than sku 13043 Also the patern of light is very good too. most of the light is shone in front, but without being a &quo...
    Cons:
Construction is poor. the Led is loose against the plastic housing and twists side to side. you can tell the only thing holding...

    great, bright single 18650 10W

posted by Culverjoe on 07/31/2011 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
*Good build quality *very bright (close to as much light as a D bin P7 driven to 2800mAh in a ultrafire wf1200) *medium setting out shines a 1000mAh R5 *thermal conductivity of this light is very good, and you can leave it on high for 7 mins or so before...
    Cons:
*changing modes sucks. In order to change a mode, you have to turn the light on for no more than two seconds before turning it ...

    GREAT replacement!

posted by Culverjoe on 06/03/2011 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
noticably brighter than standard replacement 211 bulb (90's chevy pickup dome light) though not twice, maybe 30% brighter. very cool to have a white light instead of nasty yellow, that alone makes it seem brighter. seems to stay fairly cool, considering 2 w...

    doughnut shaped pattern

posted by Culverjoe on 06/03/2011 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
very bright, maybe 500-600 lumes? glow in the dark tail cap hi-low-strobe (stobe is stupid), but hi and low are fantastic. low is, I'm guessing around 70 lumens, very useful.
    Cons:
emitter pill set way to far in body, and throws a doughnut shaped pattern. had to unscrew emitter pill towards reflector (comp...

    High driver failure rate

posted by Culverjoe on 12/25/2010 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
Good flood Much brighter than R2 the spot is not very small, so it is a good work light, not blinding in one spot, and dull all around.
    Cons:
out of Six I have bought, two have completely failed (the drivers) and two more are extremely sensitive to batteries that aren'...

possibly the best R5 right now

posted by Culverjoe on 10/23/2010 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
Water tight, no loose o-rings. Stainless steel assault crown instead of aluminum. Much wider spot than R2 or Q5, with a slow Fade around the spot instead of a sharp dark cut off. Single mode Wide beam, doesn't have a deep recessed crown. Voltage range, AN...
    Cons:
Specs say R4 instead of R5, and it does seem a TINY bit dimmer than my other R5's. Threads are a hair on the loose side, but w...

posted by Culverjoe on 10/02/2010 Certified Owner

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
very strong, will pick one up from an inch an a half above it.
    Cons:
very fragile! they crack very easily, just by playing with them having them hit one another.

    will buy more

posted by Culverjoe on 10/02/2010 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
consistent ant widths and lengths. cheapest protected 18650's out there the blue looks good. not to fancy, not to bland
    Cons:
none so far, but I am expecting a 20% failure rate or so from these batteries. that's what I've seen overall with all the whate...

    Good replacement for Incandescent bulbs

posted by Culverjoe on 10/01/2010 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
*won't burn out like regular incandescent bulbs will. *brass heat sink around die
    Cons:
no brighter than standard 194 dash/ turn signal lights. brass heat sink makes it unable to fit in some spots. also too long f...

    very concentrated light ouptut

posted by Culverjoe on 10/01/2010 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
conveniently mounted on a start with positive and negative points to solder to. light output to die surface area ratio is very high, I think the highest of any emitter on the market today this makes it have the BEST throw available.
    Cons:
a little to purple for me, but it's not that bad at all
