    Sadly, not enough power scotty

posted by Darrenm on 05/29/2013 Certified Owner

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
Is a cool idea. Heat pad gets quite warm to the touch when nothing is on it.
    Cons:
Leaving a cup of coffee on the warmer (turned on of course) an hour or so, the coffee drops to close enough to room temperature...

    Great value

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
Exceptionally bright light. Has a fairly narrowly beam which many others have commented on. I have only used in on my bike at night a couple of time, but it is actually quite good for commuting, with a solid amount of spill. Using it on for genuine offroad ...
    Cons:
Battery pack will need a bit of water proofing with copious amounts of duct tape, but that was expected. Oh, flashy mode - I to...

Good rear light - extra side pointing LEDs

posted by Darrenm on 01/19/2012 Certified Owner

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
Reasonably bright (there are brighter ones on DX). However the real advantage of this bike light is that there is one led pointing out either side - which increases your visibility - which is kind of the purpose of these things.
    Cons:
Can be a bit hard to dis-assemble/unscrew sometimes. But is looks fairly water resistant. The plastic mount bit that goes into ...

Very good, but same as sku.3651 which is cheaper

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
A 2*AAA powered bike rear light. I purchased a few different rear lights from DX at the same time. I tested each on by turing each to constant on and shining it against a white wall at the same time. This type was the brightest by a good margin.
    Cons:
EXACTLY the same as http://www.dealextreme.com/p/3-led-bike-safety-strobe-light-3651. Seriously, I bought that one and this one...

    Still out throws an XML

posted by Darrenm on 04/09/2011 Certified Owner

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
    - Enormous throw - Throw - very good throw - good machining and fit of parts - very well centered emitter with smooth reflector perfectly matched, to give, ah, throw. - 1.4 amps draw on high, well spaced med and an actual low, low mode.
    Cons:
    - slightly thin body tubing at the threads where the head screws onto the body. Not flimsy, just a lot of other torches are rea...

Great for an XML direct drive

posted by Darrenm on 04/05/2011 Certified Owner

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
    - UNPROTECTED!!!! - I get up to 3.2 to 3.4 amps on an XML C8 flashlight (which I am pretty sure is direct drive on high mode) vs 2.6 to 2.8 amps for trustfire flames. - See the video I have posted. - Some of my trustfire flames were also cutting out on high...
    Cons:
    - be aware, no nobbly bit on the positive end, so to best to use in a flashlight which has springs at both ends - I would tend ...

Purchased for a Vetrinarian - works well

posted by Darrenm on 04/03/2011 Certified Owner

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
    - UV light works, shows up the hidden second photo on my drivers liscence that I hadn't know was there until I had a look at it with this. I was slightly concerned as the 'uv' wavelength from LEDs is only just in the uv range - but everything I have been ex...
    Cons:
    - the only thing stopping the lens sliding out is friction, there is no catch or clip or anything. Though if there was, it woul...

    Strong and little

posted by Darrenm on 01/04/2011 Certified Owner

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
I bought these for extra fridge magnets, which they work fine for, and to extend an 18650 battery in a flashlight (see cons). They are very strong little magnets indeed.
    Cons:
A bit too small for my liking for extending the 18650 batteries (i.e. stick on or two on the flat end of the battery to make it...

    Cool as a gift

posted by Darrenm on 01/04/2011 Certified Owner

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:less than 1 day

    Pros:
Bought these as a gift to for a family member for christmas, gave them and the recipient, who is into transformers, was very happy. To buy them at a shopfront would be more expensive.

    Great value batteries

posted by Darrenm on 01/04/2011 Certified Owner

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
I purchased these after a MC-E light I bought here (sku 16501) was only drawing 2.1 amps from a freshly charged red Ultrafire 3000mah battery when I was hoping for closer to 2.8 amps (tailcap readings). Happily, these batteries did the trick and have given...
