    Slightly bulky but works good

posted by EdFromOhio on 09/24/2012 Certified Owner

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
Fits in a small pocket, on a belt or even in a pocket. I've held it in my hand while walking and it counted my steps. Reliable so far. 4 out of 4 working with no problems, although I did order a spare because the price was decent.
    Cons:
A little bulky. Can't pick the color you want. Not waterproof. Takes 7-10 days for these to leave the warehouse. Why?

An awesome bicycling light, like a car headlight!

posted by EdFromOhio on 09/16/2011 Certified Owner

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
Small and relatively lightweight. Excellent price compared to the other bike lights of similar design. Includes everything needed to start using it. Charge lasts for over 3 hours on high (don't know exactly how much over 3 hours as I haven't run out of b...
    Cons:
Not waterproof, although it's not much effort to make it more watertight (see other thoughts.) O-rings to hold the light to th...

Works great, fast start. High power consumption.

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
Locks onto a GPS signal fast - like within 15 seconds. Compact design. Can store enough points to track this for days. Software works well and shows your route quickly.
    Cons:
Requires a lot of juice for long-term tracking. I had this connected to a 4*AA Soshine USB battery pack (sold here) with very ...

WICKED bright - even brighter than the P7-C

posted by EdFromOhio on 04/06/2011 Certified Owner

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
This thing is BRIGHT. I mean blinding. It seems at least as bright as my car's headlight. Even with your eyes closed, you can still see this light shining through your eyelids. High mode is first when you turn it on, so you don't have to cycle through m...
    Cons:
I hate having so many modes and wish there were some way to customize these to only have the modes you want.

A VERY cheap alternative to the real thing

posted by EdFromOhio on 05/24/2010 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
Fits just like stock and does the job just as well.
    Cons:
The plastic isn't quite as refined as stock, but it's also less than one tenth the price. It shows the brand name on the caps, ...

Very nice trunk / engine compartment light

posted by EdFromOhio on 05/24/2010 Certified Owner

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
Easily lights up a trunk or engine compartment. This strip of lights slides into the provided sleeve, so mounting is easy.
    Cons:
Has a slightly purple tint to the light.

This is a great compass for the price

posted by EdFromOhio on 07/21/2009 Certified Owner

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
An overall great, basic compass. Fluid filled makes the reading nice and steady. I bought one like this at Wally's for about $5, and it's nearly identical quality. You can get 3 of them here for the same price.
    Cons:
They ship it with their inventory sticker right on the face of the compass, which is hard to remove. The back was completely b...

    Crazy strong but brittle

posted by EdFromOhio on 07/21/2009 Certified Owner

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:less than 1 day

    Pros:
Amazing strength for a small magnet. Packaged well in bubble wrap. Great for putting magnetic-type geocaches together.
    Cons:
Although my youngest son wasn't too careful, we broke 3 disks within the first 10 minutes. They also chip easily. Many have s...

Surprisingly good quality, did well in the rain

posted by EdFromOhio on 05/30/2009 Certified Owner

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
Decent build, very clear lenses. These came in the mail just before I was going on a 30 mile ride. Little did I know that a thunderstorm was going to drench me. These did not fog up. Along with a helmet, the wind hitting my eyes was greatly reduced. It ...
    Cons:
The lenses are designed to come out easily - maybe a little too easily. It's not an issue when you're wearing them - just when...

Easy to use, small. Has a whistle, though.

posted by EdFromOhio on 03/24/2009 Certified Owner

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
It is very nice and compact. Easy to keep with the iPod whenever it might be needed. Even without any instructions, it's quite obvious how this works.
    Cons:
Has a constant, high-frequency whistle. The closer you get it to the antenna, the less it is a problem but it is still very no...
