    Great cheap filter

posted by Fingh on 10/16/2010 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
The price is right and the filter works as advertised. Protects the lens, which is why most photographers use a UV filter, rather than for actually filtering the light.
    Cons:
None really. A couple of our photos have shown tiny reflections under glare conditions, which I think is from the filter, but c...

    Works on some oldies

posted by Fingh on 04/07/2010 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
Nice compact size, which isn't as ugly as another model. Colourful buttons. Works on some old TVs. Seems to work as well as, but is much cheaper than, brand name versions.
    Cons:
Like the others I tried, this doesn't seem to work on any LCD or plasma televisions, or at least none of the ones I had the opp...

    Doesn't work on most TVs

posted by Fingh on 04/07/2010 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
This is the cheapest model I've found, and works as well as the big name brands (TV-B-gone, etc). Works on some 'old-tech' televisions. Small and lightweight.
    Cons:
Doesn't work on most televisions you'll find now, including all the LCD and plasma TVs I tried with it. A bit ugly compared to...

    Works, but....

posted by Fingh on 04/07/2010 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
It works, and works as well as some much more expensive cables. Easy to use -- typical red/white/yellow colour-coded composite connectors at one end, and SVideo and audio at the other. Worked on my cheapo old laptop and two TVs (both plasma and old analog...
    Cons:
Video and audio quality are not great, but I had the same problem with much more expensive cables.

    Just Works!

posted by Fingh on 04/07/2010 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
It just works, like it should. Play your WII in its most high-definition mode - looks much better on a big-screen LCD or plasma television. Costs far less than the official Nintendo component cable, but works equally well.
    Cons:
None that I can think of, really.

Really, really good for the price

posted by Fingh on 04/07/2010 Certified Owner

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
High capacity, last forever on a single charge. Cheap. Nice hard plastic packing to store them when not using them. Good looking batteries! :)
    Cons:
Not a big brand name (so people think they're dodgy) - although maybe this is actually a 'pro' as it probably keeps down the pr...

    Very spiffy looking watch!

posted by Fingh on 02/19/2010 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
Great watch indeeed! It is solidly built, quirky, & looks expensive too! It's also rather fun to play with & show off! Great value for money!
    Cons:
The LEDs are rather bright, but on the lowest setting they are fine. The watch face is rather large & wouldn't be suitable for...

    AOK!

posted by Fingh on 02/19/2010 Certified Owner

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
Seems to be a pretty good little gadget. Very handy for finding the one battery that isn't working in a bunch of them. Seems to work fine with the rechargeables too. We've already sorted through a bunch of them, & found the rogue rechargeable that hasn't ...
    Cons:
A little on the flimsy side, but I don't think it will break anythime soon.

    Bear-shaped pancake fun!

posted by Fingh on 08/14/2008 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
It's a cute addition to a kitchen, especially one where kids might want to make pancakes. It works as designed, making bear-shaped pancakes (or other such foods that cook in a frypan). It's small and easy to handle, which is a great benefit for kids.
    Cons:
It's a little bit too lightweight; it's a bit bendy and won't handle any heavy-handedness. It's a bit more difficult to clean ...
