Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
Efficient high frequency PWM dimmer for 96w @ 12v or 192w @ 24v LED's. Robust construction, easily disassembled if you want to mod. Easy to mount.
    Cons:
Comes in ugly beige box. Difficult size/shape to conceal if used in finished product.

    Really pleased

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
Uniform brightness + color temp. Good adhesive, simple to fit, easy to solder. Just about the brightest strip in lumens per meter for warm white on DX. Lumen rating 2400 probably about right.
    Cons:
    possibly brighter than you need!

in its class its the leader

posted by GraemeEvans on 10/27/2013 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
Simple to operate push pull zooming Very compact Good optics (for an lens based light) Bright enough for on AA battery, if it were really 200+ lumens the battery would drain quickly. Partly recessed power switch For the price the build quality is great
    Cons:
Its not 210 lumens... its probably not quite half that but its still useful for most purposes.

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
Simple operation Useful brightness (not 120 lumens though) Uses common batteries Compact attractive design
    Cons:
Tail switch is very exposed, gets knocked easily in pocket/bag Brightness is much less than stated, possibly 50-80 lumens (but ...

    Seriously bright, well designed.

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
Extremely bright smooth beam, fades from spot into spill without hard edge. Massive lighting range Brightness modes start on low and work up (much better than coming on in blindingly bright first!) Most of the time Low will be enough to cycle by.
    Cons:
Beam is possibly too tight for a bike light. The flashing mode (aka epilepsy mode) is ridiculous its not possible to use low ...

    Small, Cheap, Simple

posted by GraemeEvans on 10/27/2013 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
Very slim AAA light, nice design and smooth attractive finish. Alloy construction gives some strength. Its bright enough for finding your way about (upto ~20feet) in the dark or rooting for keys in your bag, and small enough to keep in the pocket.
    Cons:
Not 100lumens, more like 10lumens. Build quality is low, but so is the price. eg: the threads are very fine, and could be strip...

    Absolutely Brilliant

posted by GraemeEvans on 10/07/2013 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
This thing is great and totally undersold by the description. The great thing is the 'user interface'. When you touch the touch sensitive area the unit switches on, but it doesn't just switch on it fades up to the brightness it was on last time. Alternative...
    Cons:
The sensing has to be done with the installed components, I wanted to extend the sensing wire but could not, any significant ex...

    Simple mains AC touch switching

posted by GraemeEvans on 10/07/2013 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
Really simple to use, just power in power out and touch wires. The touch wire can be connected to almost anything conductive, including being extended (I have some connected to 2m of cable with a 3 foot aluminium strip on the end as a touch sensor and it wo...
    Cons:
The circuit board is not mounted as such inside, its just wrapped in a semi rigid piece of plastic/paper sheet. Makes me think ...

    Great general purpose flashlight

posted by GraemeEvans on 10/30/2011 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
Standard construction, 6P compatible body. Very bright, possibly actually as bright as stated. Mode memory works well. Low is actually low, which is very useful for use in close up, like reading a watch, map or finding your way indoors. No PWM flickering in...
    Cons:
Strobe and SOS modes are distracting, and I hope never to need either. Would prefer not to have them. It's a shame it won't run...

    A great flashlight

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
The L2 package is a well rounded unit, compatible with the Solarforce L2 unit and most standard size drop in modules. The XP-G Emitter seems nice and bright, compared to my single mode R2 it's beam is both brighter and a little wider. The light is a littl...
    Cons:
The tail switch is recessed so that it tail-stands, however its quite difficult to press from certain angles. Although this c...
