    Good quality for the price

posted by Grijan on 05/24/2014 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
Unbeatable price. Good build quality. And, of course, great price/quality relation. Its black color fits any black smartphone or tablet.
    Cons:
The smooth finish of the plugs makes it hard to grab them when unplugging. Also, a minor con is that in my unit, the USB logo o...

Just a calendar. Do not buy for the discount codes.

posted by Grijan on 12/28/2013 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
A nice tabletop calendar. Interesting photos of girls (and the occasional guy) from DX's staff.
    Cons:
Minimum order quantities to use the coupons are too high. Many (all?) of us buy the calendar only to get the discounts. In past...

    Good quality LED bulb

posted by Grijan on 09/27/2013 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
White light, comparable to a "daylight" fluorescent light (cooler than a regular incandescent, but not as bluish as 6000K LEDs). Good light quantity, similar to a 11W fluorescent or a 50W incandescent (at 220V). Does not get too hot at 220V.
    Cons:
Price is a bit higher than other bulbs at DX. But then again, the quality is also really good.

Surprising quality for such a good price

posted by Grijan on 09/27/2013 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
Small, simple and cheap, but surprisingly well made for the price. That's what you get when you do a simple, no-nosense design. Also, quick and easy to disassemble, without tools. The included faux leather pouch, while cheap looking, is a nice touch.
    Cons:
Sometimes, you have to fiddle with the circuit board's adhesive when removing or replacing the hard drive. Not a big problem, r...

Tiny microSD reader or do-it-yoursef pendrive

posted by Grijan on 06/15/2013 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
    * Really small. May be the smallest in world (it can't get much smaller than this). It is certainly the smaller one I own. * Compatible with micro SD HC cards, presumably up to 32 GB (tested with a 4 GB one). * The small strap included is handy if you want ...
    Cons:
    * Taking off the card requires fiddling with your nails (it is more suited to leaving the same car at all times). * Cap feels l...

Does not give as much lught as expected

posted by Grijan on 06/15/2013 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
    * Really cheap, specially compared to local alternatives. * Very small. In fact, smaller than 25-40 W. incandescent bulbs.
    Cons:
    * Gives about the same light as a 60 W. incandescent or a 12 W. fluorescent bulb. (a 12 W. LED would be expected to compare to ...

Great if your power supply is broen or need a second one

posted by Grijan on 06/15/2013 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
    * Great build quality. * Slightly smaller than the original one. * Works with every Acer and Gateway netbooks.
    Cons:
    * If you look carefully, you see the LiteOn logo is faked. * Voltage is a bit high (about 19.3 V), but doesn't matter because a...

Great for digital cameras or as external high speed storage

posted by Grijan on 06/15/2013 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
    * Great quality. * Fair speed: 23 MB/s read, 7 MB/s write. Slightly more than the 20 MB/s promised (133x), and enough for transferring big files.
    Cons:
    * Price was great when first offered, but now it is a bit on the expensive side because of market price dropping. * Identifies ...

    Good value for price

posted by Grijan on 06/15/2013 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
    * Great price. * Holds the stated capacity.
    Cons:
    * It tries to pass as an original Nokia battery. It even has an hologram. But it doesn't hold when you compare to an actual Nok...

Inexpensive way to add 5.1 output to a laptop

posted by Grijan on 05/23/2013 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
Really good price. Actual 5.1 output (not 7.1 as stated). Virtual 7.1, probably by mixdown to 5.1 (not tested). Reasonable build quality. Easy to disassemble if you need just the board to place it inside other equipment. Both Windows XP SP3 and Windows 7 64...
    Cons:
It is not real 7.1, but 5.1 (it can be tell from the pictures: it only has three output jacks, where 7.1 needs four jacks, the ...
