Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
Small, compact, lightweight, nicely built, efficient. Large enough digits to read easily. Low cost.
    Cons:
USB socket sticks out of enclosure about 6 mm and looks like it was added as an afterthought. Sharp edges of connector edges h...

Nice assortment of small heat shrink

posted by Hanabishi on 03/16/2013 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
Excellent heat shrink at a good price, including the smallest diameter tubing I have ever seen (0.8 mm). Appears to be polyolefin, which is the good stuff. If you need heat shrink in these sizes you can't go wrong.
    Cons:
    Can't think of any.

    200 DIY possibilites

posted by Hanabishi on 03/15/2013 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
Almost any small signal application could be filled with this assortment. The experimenter will find the transistor needed in this package almost always. All the transistors I checked worked fine and were in spec. The were PNP and NPN types both, and eve...
    Cons:
Sorting the different types was a real pain, and the numbers on the individual transistors are difficult to read without a magn...

    Nice connectors, But.....

posted by Hanabishi on 03/15/2013 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
Small. well made, moderate snap when mated should be good for a couple of amps, at low voltages.
    Cons:
Leads are attached, and cannot be extended neatly. If your project allows the leads as provided all is fine. I need longer le...

    Nice assortment of LEDs

posted by Hanabishi on 02/17/2013 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
For DIY projects you should be able to find the LED you are looking for in this package. The 3-color / middle / fast flash LEDs & the 3-color / middle / slow flash light LEDs alone are worth the price.
    Cons:
The Low red light LEDs (Red) are worthless except in almost total darkness. In the clear (white) packages the Red, Green, &...

    Excellent replacement for incandescent

posted by Hanabishi on 02/17/2013 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
Has a built in voltage regulator that compensates for variations in battery voltage. Probably 5 times brighter and better color than the incandescents they replaced. My Toyota Prius front seat can now be used for reading comfortably, and the reduced power...
    Cons:
I only bought 2, now I need more to replace the rest of the lights in my car, as these things are addictive. There were no ada...

    Good dimmer. but buzzes

posted by Hanabishi on 02/17/2013 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
Smooth operation with excellent dimming range. Stays cool in operation. Pulse width dimming that does not affect the color of white leds. Nice item.
    Cons:
Annoying buzzing noise at any setting above 0 and below full on noticeable across the room. I had to replace the 100 mfd elect...

    2.5 mm plug?

posted by Hanabishi on 02/17/2013 Certified Owner

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
Works just fine. Easy to plug into power strip because of the "sideways" orientation of the plug. 5.1 volt output with 0.080 A load.
    Cons:
Claims 2.5mm output plug. Does not fit SKU:124190; 124200; or 124216 2.5 mm jacks. I had to replace the output connector wi...
