Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
they look alright, and colour temperature is nice. They're also not too big, leaving some more space in the wastebin.
    Cons:
you won't have pleasure from them for long - I have now experienced more of them breaking than I own (this not unconsiderable f...

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
    - practical blade and edge shapes - relatively low weight - tough blade material, supposedly keeping sharp for long time - all black "cool" look - easy cleaning from most materials
    Cons:
    - blade is ground sharp over the whole length, yielding a sharp edge on the side of the handle. Blunted and rounded last centim...

    sufficiently solid to entrust keys

posted by ICanuwundra on 01/12/2011 Certified Owner

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
    - the thong bit can be removed, by releasing two screws - that makes it rather easy to replace it when it wears off or breaks, or - more likely -, when you need to modify it for a 1.75" belt - sturdy material, looks unlikely to ever break - fits standard ...
    Cons:
price is a bit on the high side - but well, you're not going to lose it, and it will possibly outlast your belt.

Wish I could say "this sucks" but it doesn't

posted by ICanuwundra on 06/27/2010 Certified Owner

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
Doesn't smell bad, isn't illegal and is not made from animal products. Custom office won't have any problems with it, and it doesn't melt in the sun.
    Cons:
I haven't found any surface where it keep sticking on reliably. Even on clean glass surfaces, it eventually drop off - just the...

keychain toy appearance with a mean blade.

posted by ICanuwundra on 05/07/2010 Certified Owner

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
: + very small, therefore easy to have it with you all the time + interesting mechanic, eyecatcher. People love it. + Pretty sharp. Looks like a toy, but isn't + heavier than the size may suggest + has a clip, and supports attaching a key ring.
    Cons:
: - opens using two hands (or one hand plus a helper surface), as I don't recommend heft-flicking it.

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
: + Though mainly meant for PLCC type chips extraction, it works well for DIP/DIL type of chips too, especially from breadboards (those usually have a central groove lending itself well to insert the extractor legs, especially when there is little space be...
    Cons:
: - legs had to be bent into shape when it arrived - bolt which keeps the two halves together, and around which they pivot, h...

posted by ICanuwundra on 03/04/2010 Certified Owner

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
: + Won't cool down solder iron tip as much as a soggy spnge does. + As you can stick in the whole solder iron tip, charcoaled stuff is removed from the whole tip, not just from the tip of the tip. + Lasts long + Sooty stuff and tin remains stick well t...
    Cons:
    - This is a refill. For actual use, these are usually put into a bezelled flat steel jar, for single handed operation. These ja...

Good to have when you need it

posted by ICanuwundra on 03/04/2010 Certified Owner

: + Combines fixing and reduction of thermal resistance into one processing step. + Withstands many solvents and environmental conditions. + won't become brittle, but remains elastic. + There's a lot of glue in the tube

Best way to take spare 18650 cells along-

posted by ICanuwundra on 01/25/2010 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
One of the lowest price 2x18650 P60 hosts around, gives more than twice run time compared to single cell lights. All parts interchangeable with the WF-502B. The only difference between those two lights is that the 502D has a longer body tube. Be careful th...
    Cons:
Clip is a bit useless. But it can be removed, as it is held in place by two small screws. Occluding the holes would be good, to...
