Good but different than product photo

posted by ItalianBoy on 01/17/2011 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:less than 1 day

    Pros:
Well, it's a diffuser and it works quite well spreading the beam into a wide (almost 180-degrees) and almost uniform light. It's very lightweight and decently built. Mine is a Fenix AD401, or at least that's what it claims to be. You can leave it on your...
    Cons:
It is different from the photo and the inner diameter is 22mm and not adjustable, however with a small piece of rubber/sponge y...

    Very good sharpener!

posted by ItalianBoy on 10/10/2010 Certified Owner

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
This sharpener is great! For such a low price, it does its job really well, and is very easy to use. It is not harmful at all, since you don't have to hold both the knife and the sharpener: just put the sharpener on the border of a flat surface (i.e. a tabl...
    Cons:
The build quality isn't great, but since it will be used rarely, it is more than enough to last a few years. I don't know if t...

    New model SC-Z9

posted by ItalianBoy on 11/03/2009 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
It is a simple charger. It charges both AAA and AA batteries. It has two separate channels, and charging current is 180 mA for both AA and AAA batteries (the right AAA slot is actually just wired in parallel with the right AA slot, and the same is for the l...
    Cons:
Differently from the old model, this does NOT have a cutoff voltage, and will keep charging the batteries until you remove them...

    Cheap and good

posted by ItalianBoy on 07/18/2009 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
This driver fits pefectly in a p60 drop-in, although you should put some insulator on the top so that the Led+ and Led- don't short. The current is about 1A on high. The high mode is just as expected, and on low flickering is not noticeable.
    Cons:
Low is much lower than stated, about 100mA or even less (just an estimation - didn't check it with a multimeter). Strobe is alm...

This ia actually a 5-led light

posted by ItalianBoy on 04/06/2009 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
Leds are very bright and can be seen from a long distance; there are also two leds bonded (the first and the last) that give a full 180° visibility. It has 5 modes: one blinking, two waving, one steady on an then, of course, off. Build quality is much ...
    Cons:
I noticed that not all the rechargeables battery fit, so I can't use some which are slightly longer than standard (not a very b...

    The original Elly

posted by ItalianBoy on 03/04/2009 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
Build quality is good, and it's a great base for mods. It looks more expensive than what you paid. Shipment was fast. If you remove the head you get a floody beam, perfect as a reading light. Works an a single AA that you can get anywhere, but rechargeables...
    Cons:
Led isn't heatsinked well due to the lack of thermal paste between the star and the body of the flashlight. Lens is plastic.
