    Works good enough

posted by Jim2010 on 02/16/2010 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
Mounted on a convenient to use star. Fairly bright. Good for a bicycle taillight. Other reviews have mentioned the delicate housing, just be careful and it's OK.
    Cons:
The bin is not mentioned, it could be one of the lower-rated bins and still be relatively bright. Color is red-orange. Note: ...

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
Very inexpensive. Like most other units it measures speed, distance, average speed, etc.
    Cons:
The 2 button interface is very clumsy. The one page guide is almost unreadable. The unit failed after a week with a loose or ...

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
Cheap. Has all the basic cyclocomputer functions. Display is big enough to be seen.
    Cons:
Battery was dead on 2 of 3 that I bought. Buttons sometimes stick when pressed and can be hard to press. This would be much nic...

Very small, light weight and comfortable. Fits my ear nicely. Very inexpensive.

Low power, not worth the price

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
Takes D cells, you can use high-capacity NiMh cells. Big enough not to get lost.
    Cons:
Not very bright. Draws .09 amp at 3 volts, or .27 watt. This is 1/10 of the the claimed power.

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
Nice narrow beam. Easy to modify for wide beam. Good for bicycle taillight. Fits in MR16 light holder. Works from 7-14 volts DC. Reduced output from 7 to 4.5 volts.
    Cons:
Draws too much juice for 1-watt light. It was 1.8 watts from 7-14 volts DC.

    Works OK for the price

posted by Jim2010 on 10/28/2007 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
Cheap. Works from 7 to 14.2 volts DC with lower output from 4.5 to 7 volts. Insensitive to polarity. Can hook up + supply to either terminal. Fits some (but not all) MR16 bulb holders.
    Cons:
Reflector optics aren't too good. Light output less than it could be with led from better bin or a better reflector. Gene...
