Curious function with HTC Desire Z

posted by JohnEdwa on 11/24/2011 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
The build quality is excellent, plugs are firm, but not too hard to disconnect. For some reason, even just plugging this cable to a HTC Desire Z starts up the Car Home mode, making this even more useful for me than it normally would. It comes in a neat zipl...
    Cons:
Nothing, really. Could always be cheaper, but for the quality, excellent price.

    a nice pipe lighter

posted by JohnEdwa on 07/20/2010 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
The long flexible tip is really useful for lighting a pipe, as you can easily reach even to the bottom of the bowl. As the flame is nowhere near your finger, danger of burns are non-existent. The LED light is quite useful too.
    Cons:
Build quality for the shaft is a little sloppy, it feels flimsy and makes really nasty sounds when you straighten it out all th...

    Looks nice, works OK

posted by JohnEdwa on 07/20/2010 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
This small lighter looks really good, and is small enough to fit nicely to your pocket. The side flame helps when lighting a pipe, but it still burns your finger if you turn the flame pointing down. Pipe tool that is in the is useful if you forget your real...
    Cons:
As the spark comes from behind the flame, even when holding the lighter sideways so that the flame points up, getting it to lig...

Make your soldering much easier with this

posted by JohnEdwa on 12/08/2008 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
Perfect for keeping your soldering iron tip clean. Helps a ton to get all the burned flux and unwanted soldering blobs off the tip.
    Cons:
Isn't really about this item, but these are supposed to go in to heavy stands so they wont roll around, and I haven't found one...

    Small, powerful and cheap

posted by JohnEdwa on 12/08/2008 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
Got this just to see how good a 1.5$ laser module can be. And I have to say, it is very impressive. It's bright enough to be seen easily in daylight, the dot is pretty small and smooth, and it stays really cool, no heating up at all.
    Cons:
The laser was just a tiny bit off inside, so you have to check it and rotate if you need it to go straight.

    Lifesaver

posted by JohnEdwa on 12/08/2008 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
Messed up all of my leds, and sorting over 500 leds of various colours, all with clear caps, was really fast with this. Also perfect for checking all those different current ratings, stick a led in there, run it for 10 minutes, take the led off and touch it...
    Cons:
Only thing its missing is an permanent on/off switch. But, if you really need it to stay on, some tape fixes it.

    Perfect.

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
Really big battery, gives almost 6 hours of runtime when doing just some small things, and manages to push over 4 hours even when running at 900MHz and playing games. It rises the back of the netbook up, giving a better angle to the keyboard, and more fresh...
    Cons:
Little heavy, but not too much. I can almost even it out with leaving the charger home, with 6h of continuous runtime, this eas...

    Great panel

posted by JohnEdwa on 12/08/2008 Certified Owner

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
The panel is really beautiful, has a glass surface and it produces a good amount of power too. Just using my 11W CLF table light, I was able to get almost 6v out of it. Its too dark right now here in Finalnd to check the real power of this, but I'm pretty s...
    Cons:
The only bad thing it has are the little positive and negative tabs on the back, they are really fragile, so I suggest solderin...
