    Cheap and functional adapter

posted by MJdub on 09/05/2011 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
Very cheap, I've seen poor suckers pay $10 for little things just like these. Build quality seems to be just fine, plenty durable for its purpose.
    Cons:
Not "heavy-duty" like some I've seen, would probably break if you dropped something heavy on it, works fine for me th...

Amazingly low price for a 3-piece set!

posted by MJdub on 09/04/2011 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
Wow, these are cheap! Less than a buck a piece is a crazy deal. Stainless steel, reasonably well-made. They serve my purposes well.
    Cons:
If you need precision tweezers, you know you need to pay much more. These have varying thickness between the two 'halves', and...

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
I was surprised at the quality of these tweezers. They really look like professional/high-quality tweezers. They work just as well too! Low price and great value.
    Cons:
No cons that I can think of.

    Great Adhesive!

posted by MJdub on 09/04/2011 Certified Owner

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
I love this adhesive! I use it for all sorts of things; it's hard to say exactly what I would use this on instead of epoxy, but you kind of get a feel for it. I have a hard time explaining the consistency of this stuff to people. Just try it, if you use ...
    Cons:
The screw caps on this sku aren't very durable. I had one crack in half; it still makes a seal but I have to be careful. This...

Good deal on a workshop essential

posted by MJdub on 09/04/2011 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
If you know what this is, you probably need it and want to buy it. I don't need to convince you. This product was the same quality as I've come to expect. No curve balls. It soaks up solder.
    Cons:
It didn't sing me a lullaby after long nights of soldering ;( Really though, no problems.

    Good Value

posted by MJdub on 09/04/2011 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
Nice and bright -- probably underrated. Decent quality, as far as weight and feel (see cons...) Came with a case. The one I got has VERY good focus. EXCELLENT focus. I can't believe what a tiny, bright, focused dot it has. I must have gotten lucky, bu...
    Cons:
Re: Quality; as with every pointer I've ever used that cost less than $50, the batteries rattle inside, the connection can be i...

    Long but good

posted by MJdub on 09/04/2011 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
As usual, I'm considering the price in my rating. Are these the greatest batteries out there? No way. Are you getting your money's worth? I definitely think so! I haven't actually tested the exact capacity of any battery I own, but these seem to last p...
    Cons:
A bit long. In something like a flashlight that has a long spring (or two!) and has extra room, these will fit. In a compact ...

    Decent Cases

posted by MJdub on 09/03/2011 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
Cheap and functional. They keep your batteries safe. Keep the hinge/latch from breaking and they'll last a long time.
    Cons:
It doesn't fit protected 16340s like sku.19627. I had to cut some of the "tabs" inside the case to make them fit. M...

    Eye-Melting Color!

posted by MJdub on 09/03/2011 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
The most RGB light you can get for the price! Very bright -- needs some optics/diffusion. I've gotten five so far and they all work. They seem to be consistent and reliable. One, which I've used while testing several different (sloppily-made) circuits, ...
    Cons:
Common anode, not cathode (incorrectly labeled)

    Solid, Compact, BRIGHT!

posted by MJdub on 09/03/2011 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
Solid. For "rugged" applications I would get a "real" brand-name light, but I take relatively good care of my lights and UltraFire has proven very reliable for me. I've had this light for a little over two years. Affordable. I think ...
    Cons:
The heat transfer to the case isn't very good. The LED/driver are a "drop-in". As mentioned though it keeps cool an...
