A small monster in your pocket!

posted by McAllan on 01/16/2013 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
Small, good size fits perfectly in hand. The side switch makes the experience of a "small big" flashlight complete. With 14500 LiIon - either LiFePO4 or regular LiIon it really shines. With naked eye only very little discernible difference in ligh...
    Cons:
Off current draw is extremely high (no physical switch). With Eneloop AA batteries standby current is wooping 21 mA(!!) With Li...

    Perfect for your 14500 flashlights!

posted by McAllan on 01/16/2013 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
Use your 14500 compatible flashlight to their full power potential. You can even use them in single cell Fenix Flashlights (LD10 etc.) although the first two levels give out same amount of light and difference from level 2 to 3 is small when fresh charged. ...
    Cons:
Not a high drain type cell. Rated for only 1.2 A max continuous draw. Might be a limiting factor in some applications.

Exellent for getting rid of AAA's

posted by McAllan on 05/30/2011 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
Does what is promises. Easily use an AAA battery in most devices otherwise taking an AAA. Do however take reduced capacity and power capability into account. So don't expect to use them in a digital camera. I don't consider this a con as it's a physical bar...
    Cons:
It seems to be a little longer than a regular AA which may be a problem in some devices. However I believe in most devises this...

Should have been there from start :)

    Pros:
A circular piece of glass which (hopefully) fits your M@g (see cons). Thickness is perfect match to the original plastic one. Very nice - makes the lens of your M@g very clear even though it's not of those high tech coated ones.
    Cons:
Didn't quite fit my older 2D. I had to carefully grind the edge to take off a 1/10 mm or so. Don't know if it was because my 2D...

    Perfect with Led Lenser "copy"

posted by McAllan on 01/25/2009 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
Nice quality board and works perfectly. Memory works fine - but memory could of course be a cons depending on your preference.
    Cons:
As others said it's a bit tricky to find where to solder the connections to the LED. Take a look at the datasheet for AMC7135 a...

    Nice and flexible

posted by McAllan on 01/03/2009 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
Nice thin and flexible cable. Eases strain on connectors compared to thick cables.
    Cons:
Not really any cons except you may not like the color but that's pure personal preference. And it doesn't look like an expensiv...

    Building your own cables?

posted by McAllan on 01/03/2009 Certified Owner

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
Does what's it supposed to. Easy to use.
    Cons:
As others says. It's pretty cheap and flimsy. The battery compartment is a tad small for most 9v batteries and need to be force...

    Very useful

    Pros:
Hard to find specialty cable. Nothing to complaint about quality wise.
    Cons:
Colors make it look like an internal cable?

    Nice thrower

posted by McAllan on 01/02/2009 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
Trows beam a pretty long distance for something at this size. Special lens is to credit here. With eneloops it's a very bright and surprisingly stable output considered it's direct drive (haven't tried alkalines and I really don't care since I use rechargea...
    Cons:
Quality/finish is a bit lacking. It looks more nice in the photos. Polishing is not as nice as the photos - you can however fix...

    Absolutely love it!

posted by McAllan on 12/27/2008 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
Unbelieveable bright light for such a small light. Runs very vell on eneloops, ReCykos and similar - no more odd, exotic and expensive batteries for high power LED flashlights. Stainless steel. Much more durable than aluminum but of course weighs more (for ...
    Cons:
Inside of the head wasn't tightened properly which caused my light to flicker if not tabbed (causing a bad/loose connection). W...
