Cheaply built, but does the job

posted by Mosova on 08/09/2011 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
Looks like the original, and has the same size - hence it blocks unwanted sunlight from entering the lens. Easy mount on my 17-85 IS also with UV-filter and lens hood.
    Cons:
I don't know if the original is meant to, but this one cannot be reverse mounted, so if you suddenly want to remove it, you'll ...

    Improves handling enormously

posted by Mosova on 08/09/2011 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
Gives you the ability to easily hold your camera in one hand without being afraid to drop it if someone bumps into you. Improves your ability to zoom and focus since you don't have to support your camera as much with your left hand anymore.
    Cons:
A bit bulky mounting platform in the bottom - Camera can no longer stand level on a table. The top mount (strap) is not as tigh...

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
Makes you able to remotely trigger your camera wirelessly. There's a flip switch so that you can decide to shoot right away, or start the 2 sec or 10 sec timer. works in many different angles on distances up to ca. 6 meters. Compact - fits in every camera b...
    Cons:
restricted range on the IR transmitter gives you only about 6 meters range in daylight.

    Protects the screen

posted by Mosova on 08/09/2011 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
Fits to screen size perfectly. Seems to be good build quality - not just cheap plastic (still not glass though). Perfectly priced, and somewhat easy to mount, though you'll only get one try
    Cons:
The flip screen on the EOS 60D can no longer 'flip away'. This may no longer be necessary though, since the screen now is prote...

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
lightweight. can be positioned in many ways and handles the weight of my eos 60D w/ 17-85 well in MOST positions. Price !!
    Cons:
Legs break off sometimes when positioning but can be popped back in. I wouldn't put my camera on this tripod in any daring posi...
