    Cheap magnetic field detector

posted by Nafai on 11/08/2013 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
A non-adjustable magnetic field detector. It does it's job properly, activating the output when the magnetic field is strong enough. Beware it's a digital sensor, so no strength of field is reported, but uses the Hall efect to trigger a Schmidtt circuitry a...
    Cons:
You have to experimentally determine the detecting distance, there is no way to spread or narrow it. There are other models wit...

    Very interesting car device

posted by Nafai on 11/08/2013 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
It has an excellent holder that allows placement behind the mirror, so only the camera itself protrudes under the mirror, thanks to the angled arm of the suction cup.
    Cons:
Battery duration is far too low for my expectatives, about a couple of recording hours without screen. Definitely it must be co...

    Does its job

posted by Nafai on 10/21/2013 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
Usable as splitter for any audio headset output on any kind of device. It's very well made, small and not bulky at all. Connectors have a hard plastic feeling while cable is much like rubber or silicone. The three connectors fit well in its place, female on...
    Cons:
None at the moment. The most is that female connectors are a bit too near so bulky male coneectors could have a problem to conn...

    Nice DIY piece

posted by Nafai on 10/21/2013 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
All ready to go, just connect it and start measuring! Two different connections, one to have it powered despite the amount of voltage measured. Another thick line to measure voltage and current flow, up to 10A.
    Cons:
Not exactly a con, but you have to connect the current input in series with the negative terminal of the generator. It's not an...

    Very interesting

posted by Nafai on 10/16/2013 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
It's a seamless way to diagnose, not only the voltage (which is really easy) but also the current consumed by any USB device. Yo can diagnose faulty chargers and problems with charge process, such as slow charging or not charging at all.
    Cons:
Depends on USB orientation, mine gets faced down in one of my devices.

    Nice charging cable

posted by Nafai on 10/16/2013 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
It's very nice to see a big amount of tiny light chips coming into the mobile as it charges. It's not specially useful as it's much more bulky than a normal cable, but the effect is very nice
    Cons:
As the charger has to power the glowing cable an the device, the available charging current is reduced about 0.1A, which is not...

    Pros:
It's very easy to attach to the TV, despite in my case I'v had to use some two-sided tape as my TV has a slight curve. It offers a good Android experience.
    Cons:
In case you can't spring attach it to the TV there is no means for different attachment such as removing the spring

    Pros:
If you are messing with microcontrollers, Arduino or any break-out board for microelectronic, you will like one of these. It adds a COM port to your laptop, and it brings serial data in TTL voltages, so you don't need any kind of adaptation. It even routes ...
    Cons:
Doesn't work with Windows 8 You have to figure out where to download the drivers from
