Does exactly what the package says!

posted by Parrotile on 03/02/2013 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
Works very well, even in a larger fridge. Very good battery lifespan, and even better ( 6 months plus) on the "low energy" setting, which still does the job very nicely.
    Cons:
Three AA batteries is a slight con - the "spare" will always get lost! A rectangular design might be more space-effic...

Excellent battery, for 1/10th Local prices!

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
Individually packed, very close voltage match (within 0.1V), and the packaging provides excellent protection for leaving in the bottom of the toolbox.
    Cons:
None! Packaging's good, batteries are good, price is excellent. Really could not be that much cheaper could they - unless you ...

Good value, Good performance for the price

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
A VERY good price (because of the exchange rate!), and it performs very well. DC clampmeters are usually really expensive (well they are in Australia where EVERYTHING'S expensive), so this was a really good buy!
    Cons:
LCD Backlight would have been nice, however not a dealbreaker by far. Slight pain having to use the delta key to autozero every...

Nice little electronic version of the DX original

posted by Parrotile on 11/03/2011 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
Good price, reasonably accurate (useful for stock selection rather than machining tolerances), and clear, wide viewing angle display. Also the ability to switch between Metric and Imperial is always very useful!
    Cons:
For this price point, there seem to be no disadvantages. The older Dial Gauge version had a greater capacity (25mm), but 20mm i...

Reallly useful, and really compact too

posted by Parrotile on 11/01/2011 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
Great little product! Just what you need for recharging PDAs or bluetooth PDA Keyboards when a pc USB port is not available! Works just fine as a bona fide battery charger too, although a little slow (esp. for the higher capacity NiMh cells.) Nice strong c...
    Cons:
As noted elsewhere an indication of charge status would be nice but not essential. Charging lead connection was initially a bit...

Does EXACTLY what it says, and does it well.

posted by Parrotile on 11/01/2011 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
It's compact (really compact), and the USB connector cover is robust enough to stay "on" even in tough conditions (bottom of rucksack for example!). Charges well, and is even able to reach those silly "hard to get to" USB ports on the bo...
    Cons:
Maybe some form of battery cover would have been useful, but that might lead to overheating, so again maybe not. Somewhere to p...

As good as the "Original" for half the price!

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
Works as well as the camera's original battery, and holds charge very well indeed (even at low temperatures). No problems with fitting or charging, and also charges well (and fast) via the after-market wall charger (another DX buy!)
    Cons:
Possibly a little short on endurance - maybe the 925mAh rating was more wishful thinking than reality. Still, has a good capaci...

    Compact, accurate and reasonably priced

posted by Parrotile on 10/08/2011 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
A compact, and very useful little multimeter: Small enough to negotiate cramped spaces, and with enough range capacity for most hobby / domestic applications.
    Cons:
A display backlight would have been a nice feature (but this slight disadvantage is offset by the display hold capability). The...

    Excellent Product - and accurate.

posted by Parrotile on 09/10/2011 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
Good size and good balance. The display is clear, and all the functions are easily operated with one hand. I particularly like the retractable tip capability (no holes in the pocket). Seems as accurate as the Meterman DMM I usually use.
    Cons:
An EL or LED display backlight would have been nice, but not essential. Limited max current range (but this type of instrument ...

A very good copy of the "Market Leader"

posted by Parrotile on 09/09/2011 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
You get a "Genuine Fluke" lookalike VoltAlert for a much less than "Genuine Fluke" price. Works as well as the Market Leader and has the useful white LED light too. Definitely a good buy.
    Cons:
None whatsoever. It's sensitive, reliable and the LED light is really useful, especially in the dark recesses of older property...
