Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
Product performs exactly as expected. I could almost loose the card under my fingernail. Formats and works well. Casio G'zOne phone recognized it right away. Transfers are way faster than my old USB thumb-drive.
    Cons:
The USB can fit right-side-up or upside-down in the computer. Getting used to that. Still functions after daily fidgeting. I...

    Go with Green

posted by Popsynth on 10/30/2008 Certified Owner

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
I was pleasantly surprised upon opening the packaging. The case and foam this fine laser comes in is gift quality. The laser fires well, displaying a tight beam with very gradual falloff at far distances. I can shine a beam that ends up the width of a se...
    Cons:
As mentioned, be careful with the fragile threads! I spent some time smoothing the burrs out. I am sure the beam could be ref...

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
The wick works exactly as you would hope. Heats and extracts (sucks) quickly. Made several small repair jobs and re-soldering jobs a breeze. The DX price is an awesome value, considering that the amount of copper in the spool is probably more copper than...
    Cons:
The packaging is minimal. The one sided spool is not friendly towards the end of the wick. I just yanked mine out and spooled...

    DIY Data Handling

posted by Popsynth on 10/30/2008 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
This is a must-have for data extraction types. Simple to use and understand: all 2.5 and smaller drives power through USB. 3.5 inch drives need the included power connection. Successfully connected to SATA, IDE, and several laptop drives. Even the small ...
    Cons:
Transfer speeds are sufficient for use as a backup or extraction method. I would not use it as a constant drive. Also stayed ...

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
Very intuitive design, simple controls. The focus wheel is large and easy to manipulate. Focusing moves smoothly and increments well. The image quality is sufficient for most beginner programs, onion skins and such. The led lights have a low/high/off se...
    Cons:
Be still while hitting the capture button. There is a momentary delay from the button to the capture. Stability is vital for ...
