Good vinyl, color, size - weak adhesive

posted by ProE_Pro on 10/20/2012 Certified Owner

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
I like the color and reflectivity of the red half of the sticker - close enough to Ducati red (using it to cover the ugly grey VIN stickers on my bike tubes). Material is nice, rubbery vinyl that is flexible and a little stretchy.
    Cons:
As said by others, the glue is very weak, practically useless. Expect to either add your own adhesive, or clear tape if the ed...

    Recycle your laptop hard drive

posted by ProE_Pro on 10/28/2008 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
A way to reuse an upgraded laptop drive, or connect it temporarily to desktop electronics for backup or troubleshooting purposes. Could also use this in a desktop case Media PC, since laptop drives tend to be quieter and draw less power.
    Cons:
Mine had sloppy looking solder joints and wasn't fully cleaned of flux - worked OK, just looked a bit shabby.

    Recycle your old power supply

posted by ProE_Pro on 10/28/2008 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
Recycle your PC parts instead of adding to the landfill. Built well enough - wires seem to be of heavy enough gauge, connectors fit OK, and it works on my machine.
    Cons:
Mine was built just fine - guess some buyers have had loose connector pins, so that would be the only risk.

    Super strong, super cheap

posted by ProE_Pro on 10/28/2008 Certified Owner

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
Very strong for their small size. Much cheaper than other suppliers, especially when shipping is added.
    Cons:
As other reviewers have said, they are so small that they are hard to pick up, and very hard to separate from each other (slide...

Upgrade your USB reader for SDHC.

posted by ProE_Pro on 10/24/2008 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
For me, it worked with an older 4GB non-SDHC card, an older 1GB mini-SD in an adapter, and a new micro-SD SDHC 4GB card in a double adapter (micro to mini to full size). Operates just like an other USB reader I've used, works in every device I tried (my des...
    Cons:
My regular sized SD card gets caught when I try to remove it. Typically it takes a little fumbling to get it out of the reader...

What a value for a pretty good pipe...

posted by ProE_Pro on 10/24/2008 Certified Owner

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
Not bad looking for plastic. Works well enough. Decent drawstring bag (leather, NOT!) that serves well to hold tobacco.
    Cons:
Fit between the parts is sometimes iffy - I've bought three, and one has a sloppy fit between the stem and the bowl. Also the ...

    Simple and Stretchy!

posted by ProE_Pro on 10/24/2008 Certified Owner

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
Well made, good materials. Velcro is strong. Comforable band. Simple design. Pretty long - fits big arms. Not just for the iPod Nano.
    Cons:
Not really a con, but you need to have something that this band slips in or through if you want to hold your iPod.

Mine turns on, but not off again - Help?

posted by ProE_Pro on 08/02/2008 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
I'm assuming that once it is set up properly, the item should work as advertised. Remote build quality is excellent, electronics box is so-so, but seems ok. Range seems to be excellent, and price is good too. I'm in the US with 110VAC power.
    Cons:
My remote has buttons with a padlock shown Open and Closed instead of the pictured remote with buttons labeled A and B. The Op...
