A nice module for small devices

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
Cheap. Relatively well-made. Very low power consumption. Easy to solder (despite its small form factor) and very easy to use - there is even an Arduino library for this exact module. It has some very nice built-in features, like auto-scan and signal strengt...
    Cons:
The build quality varies from module to module: I got one which was not trimmed right and I can barely solder it (see the pictu...

    Pros:
Good quality. Very cheap. The LCD has a very bright blue background. 5-function keypad (4 directional and a "select" key), plus the usual Arduino´s reset button. Has a nice multi-turn trimpot to adjust LCD´s contrast
    Cons:
There is only a soldered junction (pin header) holding the LCD and the shield board together. I is a good idea to put two scre...

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
Cheap, small (40mm x 73mm). The 3.3V power rails and almost all CPLD pins are available on connectors (have 2 x 44-pin connectors), fast clock (50MHz), based on an reasonable chip (EPM240T100 family: 240 LEs, 100 pins). Simple (CPLD, 2 LEDs, voltage regul...
    Cons:
The soldering quality is not good. The CPLD is ok, but all the other components look as they have been soldered by hand, using...

Think it´s better than it looks

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
Cheap. Relatively well finished. 300mAh capacity (not confirmed yet). Mine is holding charge very well - even on some energy-hungry equipments. Have charged it only a couple times, but it looks ok.
    Cons:
The battery and its packing are all written in chinese: there is no english words in this thing at all! I "guess" it...

    Excellent!

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
Solid assembly: the USB connector is properly soldered in place and the whole board is revested by a transparent shrink tube! Uses a decent USB x Serial converter (Profilic PL-2303HX), which has built-in 5V-to-3V regulator. The module has both %v and 3.3V...
    Cons:
No specs supplied. You have to look at the PL-2303 datasheet to figure out the maximum speed and power ratings.

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
One of the only breadboards which have mounting grooves in all ends - so you can expand it horizontally and vertically. The contacts are one of the best I´ve ever tryied: they are nickel-plated, feel to hold the terminals really well and and don´...
    Cons:
The screew holes are a bit sleazy, with thin corners (securing this thing in place using screews my not be a good idea). It is ...
