Doesn't fit in french wall mounts but works great!

posted by ShadowLight on 12/05/2013 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:less than 1 day

    Pros:
The timer is set to 60 seconds, which is way enough for my use! Light will flicker about 4 times the first time you power the switch to tell you it's working.
    Cons:
It's not a direct fit for french wall mounts, I was cuting pieces off of the inside cover when I realized the board was large e...

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
Wow this is BRIIIIIIIGHT ! I tried to power one LED at around 500mA with a constant current source driver, thinking I could stand looking at the beam... I WAS WRONG :) It's brigther than the amber one I was playing with until now.
    Cons:
None for now, this little baby looks promising! During my short test I touched the led dome with my finger, it gets hot soone...

    Looks ok

posted by ShadowLight on 10/31/2013 Certified Owner

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
This tool comes in a (very cheap) plastic box. There are a lot of gauges in there. Comes oiled.
    Cons:
The "case" is made of a blue plastic like in the picture, metal would be better. The oil used in mine is really bad q...

    Good gauges

posted by ShadowLight on 10/31/2013 Certified Owner

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
The blades and the "case" are made from metal, the unit looks strong enough to last. Blades come lubricated, you can feel (and smell) the oil.
    Cons:
There is no box included. Considering it's fragile, I would not store this thing with the other tools I used for my cars.

    Good

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
It works great and looks nicely built. Comes with a plastic box (cheap plastic but it's not a con for me), and a second battery is included in the box. The tool itself is made from some kind of stainless steel and looks strong! Digits are big enough, and ...
    Cons:
There is no HOLD button, this could have been a nice feature in car application for example, where even a locking screw may not...

    Cheap locking system

posted by ShadowLight on 06/06/2013 Certified Owner

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
It's cheap, it's working... What else do you need? ;) It comes with holding brackets to fix them, a controler box, an inline fuse. The driver side one has three more wires: - 1. Common - 2. Locking sensing switch - 3. Unlocking sensing switch When unlocking...
    Cons:
It's made from cheap plastic... And the actuator is also made with plastic, not metal. Electric wires look kinda light for me ...

    Awesome time saver !

posted by ShadowLight on 12/19/2012 Certified Owner

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
Awesome ! I never used that kind of thing, only regular tin wires. And this is great. I had to solder a Bluetooth SMiRF module on connectors, to make it removable from my board... Just apply some paste in the holes, put your iron on it, heat it up and you'...
    Cons:
Smells very bad... Made me cough while soldering but I wasn't wearing mask and it was in a closed room... Don't do this ! (Do a...

    Good

posted by ShadowLight on 12/19/2012 Certified Owner

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
Good product, quality ok. Easy to solder and plastic doesn't melt when soldering. And cheap ! The schematic is quite common, easy to find on the Internet. I even found a corresponding schematic in DipTrace to design my board so that's great !
    Cons:
    None I can think of.

    Good knife sharpener

posted by ShadowLight on 11/30/2012 Certified Owner

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
Good product, sober, quality ok. Does its job pretty well, my old knives are finally sharp! I tried on a knife I had troubles cutting tomatoes with, and now the blade cuts the skin like butter!
    Cons:
You have to be careful not to cut yourself as you must hold this tool while sharpening your knife, so it can be dangerous... Do...

    Good product

posted by ShadowLight on 09/22/2009 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
It's a good product. You can adjust almost everything on it to hold your cellphone/GPS/radar alarm right.
    Cons:
It's plastic... I left it mounted on my windshield for a long time (more than one month) and the sun killed it in a way... Beca...
