    Incredibly useful light

posted by SpaceFrog on 11/12/2012 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
Very versatile. It has magnetic base, clip, hanger, lanyard hole and the head tilts both ways. It means you can attach it almost anywhere for hands-free operation. You can hang it on your neck, clip to your pocket, stick it inside your car hood, hang it on ...
    Cons:
None except lanyard or neck rope could be included. Maybe the button is a little small for those with large hands or when using...

    Pretty practical

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
Nicely built, good grip, light pattern typical for most XML flashlights - bright hotspot with smooth transition to flood, so it both throws and floods. Very practical switch - it is tactical/forward clicky so you can turn it on with half-press. It always st...
    Cons:
No memory - it always starts on low. Anodizing is rather soft - after 6 months of use there are some scratches. The light is no...

    Good and inexpensive

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
Sound is surprisingly good. Not as good as Sennheiser plugs that used to be on sale here but pretty close. Large flat cord might seem an inconvenience at first but actually it is easier to keep in untangled.
    Cons:
None so far. The clamp is a bit weak but manageable.

    Pretty good for amateur tinkering

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
Lots of bits, haven't found a screw it could not unscrew. Quality is sufficient for time-to-time use, dismantled a couple of notebooks and smartphones with such set and it is still going strong. Nice case.
    Cons:
Bits are apparently not made of very hard steel - which is obvious for the price. It is not a con but something to be aware of....

    Good one

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
Loud and clear enough to be used on the bike. In traffic it is not that loud as motorcycle speakers are but it is very usable in quieter situations. Sound is nice enough.
    Cons:
User interface is quite unclear and buttons are located inconveniently - not really a problem though. File transfer speed is no...

    Does the job

posted by SpaceFrog on 06/11/2011 Certified Owner

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
    Does cut pizza.
    Cons:
Build quality is quite filmsy, can be taken apart by just pulling the handle away, blade dingles a bit.

    Pretty nice

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
Nice build quality, useful set of connectors, all ports on the battery are standard USB ports compatible with standard cables. I use it with Desire HD and it is able to fully recharge it twice (which means it outputs at least 700-800 mA on its 1A port for g...
    Cons:
Ports seem a bit loose and some cables (included one as well) do not sit tight. Not a real problem, but can be annoying sometim...

More a toy than a collectible.

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
A cup which actually looks like a lens, at least from some distance. The lid has silicone ring and threads so probably it won't spill if closed. Looks cool and has steel interior. Comes with a pouch.
    Cons:
Devil is in the details. The switch is fake and the distance scale is really fake. Actually the scale came half-unglued on my u...

    Nice knife

posted by SpaceFrog on 10/26/2010 Certified Owner

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
Very well-made knife. Looks good, size is just about right for various little tasks like cutting food, sharpening pencils, cutting packages, etc. Lock seems reliable enough and it is easy to open and close the knife with one hand.
    Cons:
Carabiner clip really spoils looks of the knife and it is not securely attached - mine kept unscrewing and falling. So I just d...

    Functional but with some drawbacks.

posted by SpaceFrog on 08/26/2010 Certified Owner

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
The flashlight gives throwy beam when folded and flooding light when extended. Flood light is a bit weak but it also gives some side light from the plastic shaft which illuminates a lot when using it indoors. It can tail-stand and head-stand, serving as a s...
    Cons:
First of all it is big. Look at dimensions before buying. Not a real con but something to be aware of. Build quality is not ste...
