    Bright spotlights to replace halogens

posted by Torvisoitin on 02/27/2013 Certified Owner

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
These are bright. I bought two types of LED spotlights and these were the other ones. I installed them to replace halogen lights that were more mood-lights that lights that illuminate the house. And they outshine halogens easily!
    Cons:
Sadly I haven't installed these lights in the house we live now, so can't say anything about their longevity. Some of these LED...

    Bright LEDs for DIY-hacks

posted by Torvisoitin on 02/27/2013 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
These lights seems to be bright, of what I can tell. I haven't and will not put these in a car. I plan to isolate them with some clear resin and make a focus assist light for my underwater camera. I noticed that it is quite hard to shoot underwater in the n...
    Cons:
None so far. For car use, I think they are quite useless, but pimpin' my ride has never been my thing. For a close-up focus ass...

    Chea pUSB cable for charging

posted by Torvisoitin on 02/27/2013 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
I have a tendency to displace all my cables for charging my phone. Now I bought five of these, so I can have a cable and a charger in every room. Cables are needed in our family's three cars. It seems to be charging my phone at at least the same rate as ot...
    Cons:
None so far. Should have bought longer ones, but that is my own fault.

    Charge in your car

posted by Torvisoitin on 02/27/2013 Certified Owner

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
I do have to say I love the color, which was the reason I bought it. It seems to be working good enough for my needs, which is to charge my phone in the car. As I have a tendency to loose suff like these, I just bought a few more. For under two dollars it i...
    Cons:
None so far. I have had USB-chargers fail before. Time will tell if this one can survive in the car. The temperature is going b...

A simple tool for a simple task

posted by Torvisoitin on 02/27/2013 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
Works like a charm. Connections are tight enough, and the device plugged in this thing stays plugged in. Same with the other end. The build seems solid. A molded blob of plastics with connectors molded in it, what could go wrong?
    Cons:
None. I hope it will be in one piece still in the future.
