Works for the most part, but seems a bit flakey

posted by Tummy57 on 12/15/2008 Certified Owner

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
Very cheap in terms of price and takes all kinds of media. It works and reads media, but see cons for speeds.
    Cons:
I'm not sure if there's something wrong with my unit or not. When I connect it, it always says a non-usb 2.0 device has been co...

    Cheap, decent quality

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
Pretty decent quality for the price. It's a bit tight for the Asus U6E I got it for, but it does fit. The protective padding seems about the same as the other pads I see in the stores.
    Cons:
As mentioned above, it's a bit tight for me 12" ultra portable so I'm not sure how the fit will be for other units.

Works, cheap.. seems like a good deal to me!

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
Good, cheap, flexible tri-pod. This is similar to those mini-gorilla pods you see around for double to triple the price. And you can pick different colours with these!
    Cons:
The packaging is pretty cheap, which in turn makes the product itself look cheap. However, I've bought some non-generic ones in...

Neat, and good for the price

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
Another great, cheap product from DX. This thing is a bit brighter than I was expecting which was a nice touch. The build quality itself is actually quite good, although I did have a small "problem" with some of them (see below).
    Cons:
I ordered 5 of these and 4 of them have really loose shafts. They don't stay in the housing properly at all and keep slipping o...

    Pros:
For this price, you can't really go wrong. Locally it would cost me about $3 for 1 Energizer 2025, but here you'd get 5 for just under that.
    Cons:
None, really. Unless you're worried they are not real.

Perfect for charging NDS over usb

posted by Tummy57 on 02/16/2008 Certified Owner

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
Pretty basic NDS USB charging cable. Cable seems to be pretty well made, for the price, to be honest. You can basically use this to charge from any computer USB port, or charge from a USB AC adapter. You should of course double check the output voltage befo...
    Cons:
    None, really.

    Pretty handy portable battery pack!

posted by Tummy57 on 02/16/2008 Certified Owner

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
You can use this as a portable battery pack, to charge anything that can be charged by regular USB power. It's also, of course, rechargeable by solar power, so you get "free" power for your devices!
    Cons:
It seems to take a pretty long time to recharge the battery using just the solar power. Mind you, it's not been sunny, so it's ...

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
Looks enough like a pen that an unknowing person may pick it up and try to use it. The shock itself, as others have mentioned, is surprisingly strong.
    Cons:
The overall build quality isn't very good, and while there's a real pen, my unit wouldn't actually work since there was no way ...

    Great light for the price

posted by Tummy57 on 02/06/2008 Certified Owner

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
FOr the price, this is a really nice light. Nice, bright beam. Very smooth screw threads on the housing and no flickering like some of the other lights. Switch has a good, positive feel.
    Cons:
The unit itself is a little bit light, although some may say that's actually a good thing. The O-rings don't seem to be in a po...

    Decent case for the price

posted by Tummy57 on 01/24/2008 Certified Owner

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
Case looks nice (g/f loves it). Acceptable build quality. DS lite fits snugly in it.
    Cons:
The build quality is not as good as a few of the other cases I got, and this case has an odd smell to it. I think that will go ...
