Finally a good 'side switch' light

posted by Yenster on 01/06/2008 Certified Owner

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
Great to finally have a nice side-switch flashlight. It's compact and fairly light-weight for an alluminum body. Bright output with focused hot spot for throw. Have very level output through the battery life due to a good regualted driver circuit. Nice...
    Cons:
Tint was very slightly greenish, but not noticable unless doing some side-by-side comparisons. 18650 batteries don't fit.

    Fast charger for 18650 batteries

posted by Yenster on 12/07/2007 Certified Owner

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
Fast charger for 18650 batteries. I measured an initial total of 1.7A for two drained cells. Takes about 4 hours to charge 2 drained batteries. A single drained cell is appropiately limited to 1 A. Will fully charge cells since it will continue to charg...
    Cons:
Not much of a con, but the indicator light will turn from red to green at around 4.15 volts. However, the charge will continue...

posted by Yenster on 12/07/2007 Certified Owner

Involvement:Novice (still getting used to it) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
Very good size for a true pocket-knife. Build quality is very good...sharp and durable. Not too small.
    Cons:
Slight difficult to open and close (but still a good design)

    Not designed for Short-Circuit protection

posted by Yenster on 12/07/2007 Certified Owner

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
Has PCB protection for ove-charge and over-discharge. Holds power and has good capcity.
    Cons:
The protection PCB is NOT designed to protect against short-circuit, and will be damaged. Once damaged, the battery no longer ...

    I see Green...cool

posted by Yenster on 12/07/2007 Certified Owner

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
The green led inside lights up the round window when opened (cool). A medium sized lighter made of solid-feeling metal, the semi-jet flame is fairly wind-proof. The flame also turns green, which is unique.
    Cons:
Can't say I like the horse symbol on the front (minor dislike). The cover can get in the way for cigar smokers.

    Quality and compact lighter

posted by Yenster on 12/07/2007 Certified Owner

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
Compact ligher with a nice finish. Easy to carry in my pocket. It feels like a rubber finish but it's not. The finsh is actually some sort of polymer, maybe Nitrolyn, which has good grip and durable. Seems to ignite the jet flame every time.
    Cons:
The jet flame is a little small for Cigar smokers that need to cover a large 'foot'. Also, it will get hot if lit for about 15...
