    Small powerful adapter

posted by ahecht on 02/24/2013 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
Very small package. Worked well to power an arduino and some relays.
    Cons:
It's hard to get the plastic case open to get at the internal components -- I had to use a soldering iron to melt open the plas...

    Small powerful adapter

posted by ahecht on 02/24/2013 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
Very small adapter. Put out enough power to run my Arduino project. Case is easy to pry open to integrate adapter board into small project
    Cons:
Somehow managed to damage the board after removing it from the case so that it would only put out 0.5V. Going to reorder and tr...

MUST REMOVE R2 RESISTOR FOR IT TO WORK!

posted by ahecht on 06/13/2012 Certified Owner

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:less than 1 day

    Pros:
    * Cheap arduino board, and compatible with all Duemilanove-compatible shields. * Built-in PWM connector headers attached to digital pins 3, 5, 6, 9, 10, and 11 so you can just plug in a standard hobby servo without any need for crimping, soldering, or usin...
    Cons:
YOU MUST REMOVE THE R2 RESISTOR FOR THE BOARD TO WORK! If you do not, you will get the following error when you try to progr...

    Great value

posted by ahecht on 05/17/2010 Certified Owner

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
    * Snug and secure fit on my Rebel XT kit lens * Cheap way to add protection from dust glints and glare * Provides protection against accidentally touching the lens while zooming and focusing * Makes manually focusing easier, since you can turn the entire sh...
    Cons:
    * Does not fit over my Circular Polarizing filter (I can jam it on, but it doesn't go on all the wal and causes vignetting) * V...

    Better than cardboard

posted by ahecht on 05/17/2010 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
    * Sturdy build quality. * Stylish looking (at least as stylish as you can get for 3D glasses). * Good optical quality compared with the cardboard glasses you often get. * Wide field of view. * Glasses are actually Red-Cyan (not red-blue), so they work with ...
    Cons:
    * Curved shape means that they take up a lot of space in your drawer. * Unlike cardboard glasses, they cannot be reversed for i...

    Cheap protection for your lens

posted by ahecht on 11/10/2008 Certified Owner

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
Fits my Rebel XP kit lens. Cheap lens protection. Multi-coating prevents internal reflections and increases light transmission. Much cheaper to replace than a whole lens.
    Cons:
Outside threads are a bit loose, so as a consequence the Canon lens cap rattles around. It doesn't fall out, but it can be a bi...

    Great value for the price

posted by ahecht on 11/10/2008 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
Works with my Rebel XT (EOS 350D). The "S" button at the top takes a picture immediatly and the "S2" button takes a picture after a 2 second delay (to give you time to hide the remote). Very slim and fits in my camera case without adding bulk, and the shiny...
    Cons:
No instructions are included, and it took me a while to figure out what the buttons do (I should've read the other reviews here...

    Cool little gadget

posted by ahecht on 10/28/2008 Certified Owner

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
Glows a long time with no power. Can be attached to things to find them in the dark. Not as bright as you might expect, but can be easily seen across a dark room. Small and compact, and the case seems pretty rugged.
    Cons:
For a tritium vial of this size, there are no cons. Don't expect to be able to read by the light of this thing, and don't expec...

    Good value

posted by ahecht on 10/28/2008 Certified Owner

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
This pack of 20 is cheaper than a single battery at the local store. They seem to work well, although I haven't tried them all yet.
    Cons:
It will take me a while to use up all 20, but other than that I can't find any fault with these.

Good value and crystal clear, but tough to apply

posted by ahecht on 10/28/2008 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
Crystal clear once applied, resistant to scratches, stays in place well, and removable without leaving a residue or damaging screen. Comes with a nice cleaning cloth. Slightly oversized for my Centro, but I was able to trim it with a paper trimmer.
    Cons:
Can be hard to apply without getting dirt under the screen -- I needed the help of alcohol swabs, scotch tape, and a compressed...
