Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
It is VERY bright, with 8 meters you can fully shine a 6x3.5m room without problem. It is easy to mount on the roof but i would recommend to use a overhead lights with a translucent sheet to avoid the leds dazzle you. Theoretically, it cant fuse (for a lot ...
    Cons:
You will have to buy separately a 12V power supply for about 150W. They are not cheap.

    Very high quality digital caliper.

posted by algspd on 07/30/2012 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
This caliper is very sensitive. It doesn't makes error after using for a while without returning to zero. It can change from mm to inches and measures to the 0.01mm. Auto off and auto on are very usefull. Case is also good quality. It comes with a spare bat...
    Cons:
May be a bit shor for some uses. You have to learn how to use it, but easier than a "real" caliper.

Just like an mega2560 arduino board

posted by algspd on 07/30/2012 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
It is just like an mega2560 arduino board and it costs 1/3 the price. It is good enough for the price and it works exactly like an arduino mega. Specifications are open and you can program it with the suite in arduino.cc. There you can get more info about t...
    Cons:
Power management electronics may be lower quality.

A bit small switches for endstops.

posted by algspd on 07/30/2012 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
Very usefull switches for endstops. They are very small and very sensitive. Small travel is required for it to "click". 3-pin allows you not to use resistors in your endstop sensors.
    Cons:
You need a specific size socket. They are a bit small so it may be a problem. You will have to solder three wires to its pins o...

Cheap power control board with relays.

posted by algspd on 07/30/2012 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
It is cheap for what it does (the board, relays, resistors, transistors, leds... are far more expensive than this board). It is very easy to use, for example, with an arduino to switch on-off a light bulb.
    Cons:
I bought 2 of them, one had 2 relays failing so I told dealextreme and they shipped me another one for free, so no problem.

Medium quality and very usefull wires for prototyping

posted by algspd on 07/24/2012 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
Medium quality and very usefull wires for prototyping. It's very comfortable to prototype with this wires in combination with a good quality breadboard. They are very cheap (much more than in local stores).
    Cons:
Sometimes the rubber cover gets unglued from the tip. The wire is still usable. Bigger packs would be ok (if cheaper). Sometime...

    Very electrically noisy power supply

posted by algspd on 07/24/2012 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
This power supply is ok for a LCD monitor, which already has an internal rectificator. If the power is enough, it will work ok. It would be also ok for powering high power LED strips.
    Cons:
This power supply is very noisy, I checked it with an oscilloscope and i saw its output was not very clean. Do not use this pow...

Very powerfull power supply for homemade projects

posted by algspd on 07/24/2012 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
Very powerfull and very clean output power supply. It provides even more than 1A with 12V constant output. It survives a shortcircuit (when shorted it makes noise and stops giving current) I have had one of this working for months powering a LED lamp whith ...
    Cons:
I got several and one of them was broken (it stopped working a few hours after powering on).

Very versatile plug for DIY projects or homemade repairs

posted by algspd on 07/24/2012 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
It is small and very versatile plug, you can use male and female together or separately for your projects or to repair a broken connector.
    Cons:
Sometimes the shaft of the female plug is a bit deflected but it is not really a problem, when you first plug the male it goes ok.
