    Solid construction, beauty finish

posted by ampangus on 07/13/2011 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
The construction on the body of this light is fantastic. The finish is really nice too. I only really bought it because it wasn't black! The zooming slide is really smooth and stays where you put it. No slipping. Light output is good enough for most people...
    Cons:
There was a bit of dirt behind the lens when I first got it but it was an easy fix. The threads are really smooth so taking it ...

Strips faster then Susie on Amature Night

posted by ampangus on 04/03/2011 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
Strips wire like a boss. The spring return is solid. I have had cheap ones in the past that have shot out and almost taken out an eye. Handles are pretty good.
    Cons:
The tips don't match up perfectly, but then again you should be using needle nose pliers with you need something that accurate.

    Fits 15 inch Macbook Pro

posted by ampangus on 04/03/2011 Certified Owner

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
I bought it for a 13 inch macbook but it will fit a 15 inch macbook pro like a glove. So the girlfriend is going to be getting another one for her laptop. It is built well and the zippers are smooth.
    Cons:
Might be a bit big for a 13 inch laptop. It will work. If you don't want the laptop moving around inside the pouch then this w...

    Solid piece of LED strip

posted by ampangus on 03/18/2011 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
Price on these is fantastic. They work well and they are built pretty good. Light output is perfect for display cases or under counter lighting. Would work as cove lighting in a room too.
    Cons:
You need to have some soldering skills to make these work. The leads to and from the strips can be a bit awkward to sold especi...

    Great pouch with great features

posted by ampangus on 03/18/2011 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
Great build quality, great price. The materials are good quality and tough as nails. Fits motorola GP328s like a glove. Good snaps and elastics. MOLLE straps are tough.
    Cons:
None that I can find. Colour matching to other great can be hard over the internet, but honestly I don't think that should real...

    Work gloves that work

posted by ampangus on 03/18/2011 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
For 12 bucks you can't go wrong. They are not "original" mechanix gloves but they sure do hold up. They are tough and do what they are supposed to do. Protect your hands. Medium fits my hand great. I wear a medium T shirt so I figured medium glove works too.
    Cons:
Some minor stitching was bad on the one finger, but it hasn't pulled out yet. I have been using them for a few weeks. I thought...

    Fantastic!

posted by ampangus on 03/18/2011 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
These unit are exactly the same pieces you would buy from other cable and parts suppliers. The company I work for buys these at dealer price from HOSA cables. They charge us 5 dollars Canadian per piece.
    Cons:
    None! Solid material and performance.

    This grip works!

posted by ampangus on 12/06/2010 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
Cheap! The genuine canon grip is almsot 400 dollars here in Canada. Reads the battery status on the newer canon batteries just fine. Stock battery door fits inside the grip like the canon one. AA battery clip works well too.
    Cons:
Not weather sealed, but hey a little bit of foam rubber from the surplus store and an exacto knife and you can weather seal it....

Knife so nice I bought it twice

posted by ampangus on 07/13/2010 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
Solid construction and sharp out of the box. Pouch is pretty good. i bought 2 of these knives now. Probably will buy another one on the next DX order.
    Cons:
None yet. I even try to scuff the finish up by throwing it across some asphalt. Looks a bit scratched in one area but the rest...
