Cheap, simple and gets the job done...

posted by anarky on 05/21/2011 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
This is a pretty useful (and cheap!) solution for anyone who needs USB access to their 2.5-inch SATA hard drives. Really compact, fairly simple design. The vent holes along the surface provide decent heat dissipation. Also includes an indicator light, which...
    Cons:
Might require two of your USB ports, depending on how much voltage your PC or laptop is providing (the USB cord is a "Y" cord w...

Cheap option for better-than-average face masks

posted by anarky on 05/21/2011 Certified Owner

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
Pretty darn cheap for this kind of surgical face mask, well-designed and classic form, includes a true "filter" layer unlike most cheap face masks, also includes the thin metal nose bridge bars to conform to your face for a tighter fit.
    Cons:
I'm not an expert when it comes to medical/hospital equipment, but I'd be willing to bet that these aren't the same quality tha...

Good quality, cheap glue, but dries up fast

posted by anarky on 05/21/2011 Certified Owner

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
For the money, it's tough to beat the sheer amount of super glue in this bottle. It's strong stuff, just as strong as pretty much any household super glue I've tried.
    Cons:
Glue is not viscous at all; not a gel, just liquid. That means two things: some people find it tougher to work with, and it dri...

Great little knife for the price

posted by anarky on 05/21/2011 Certified Owner

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
Stainless Steel construction, innovative style, sturdy design, decent action, can be sharpened easily, includes a hole on the handle for attaching to a keyring, lanyard, zipper or anything else... You wouldn't expect it, but this knife actually has a pretty...
    Cons:
Pretty difficult to open with one hand, but not impossible. The folding joint might need to be oiled if the action isn't smooth...

Probably best utility torch you can buy for $10

posted by anarky on 07/16/2009 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
This thing is amazing for a $10 utility torch. It has a huge butane gas tank, and it has an impressive force. I use these for fireworks shows, so the diameter and length of the torch flame is important to me, and this has a huge flame. The "lock" ...
    Cons:
    - Can only switch to "flame" mode FROM "torch" mode. - Some aspects of the build quality seem just "ok...

Actually a pretty cool knife, for the price

posted by anarky on 07/16/2009 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
This is a sleek little knife. It has a really benign look; not a shape you'd expect. As another poster said, it's really thin so it fits in a jeans pocket really well. Mine came pretty sharp, but not "razor" sharp. I think the best thing I liked a...
    Cons:
Was REALLY hard to open and shut when I first got it. I had to use some WD-40 on the joint to loosen up the folding action. Sti...

This really is a great lighter for the price...

posted by anarky on 02/26/2009 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
This is an awesome lighter for an insane price. The build quality is surprisingly solid; it could easily pass as an expensive Calibri lighter that sells for $50. * Really is thinner than most "thin" lighters you see out there. * Rubberized matte-b...
    Cons:
There really isn't too much to complain about with this lighter, considering the price. Under three dollars? Are you kidding me...
