    Pros:
Works with Raspberry Pi and Linux. Has a blue LED.
    Cons:
Works so well that I can't think of anything to write here, but I need 500 characters. Maybe if you don't like blue then the bl...

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
Tiny! Low power consumption, but bright, even, light. Does not get hot.
    Cons:
Too small for MR16 lampholders, but I would have known that if I read the details more carefully.

    Pros:
Cheap! This is the best price for this device. There are identical ones on DX, but they are more expensive. Works with Linux.
    Cons:
    None!

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
Cheap! Well made! Nice method for opening the case. Comes with screws for holding the hard drive and a small screwdiver, and a double-ended USB cable (to permit a higher current supply to the drive).
    Cons:
None! It makes it difficult to write something that is more than 500 characters.

Works, but I need more current.

posted by andoryu on 03/15/2013 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
Small. Neat. Well constructed. Easy to connect.
    Cons:
Not really a con, but the output current limit is genuine. If you try to draw more than is permitted, the output will shut off.

    Cheap and functional

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
Cheap! Well constructed! Works perfectly. Comes with a useful connecting cable. My PC runs Linux and a bluetooth dongle, which can connect to this module easily.
    Cons:
Maybe a con- supply requirement is 5V, data lines operate at 3.3V.

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
Low price! Great sound (see below)! Uses an AAA battery!
    Cons:
Supplied earphones are very poor, but they do work. I recommend you buy a good set of earphones, but when you do, this player ...

    Works as expected

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
Good price. Two rows of 0.1" header pins are included (solder them yourself). Works with Arduino software (I selected "Arduino Pro or Pro Mini (5V 16MHz) w/ ATMega328")
    Cons:
No documentation. Not a big deal because either you already know what you are doing, or you can find information on the web. ...

Small compass with a rubber housing

posted by andoryu on 12/26/2012 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
Cheap! There is an SKU for a single compass on this site, but buying 5 is not much more expensive than one. 4 of mine pointed the same way, one was a little different, but no problem.
    Cons:
It's a compass. What's not to like? I suppose one con is the accuracy, but only one of mine varied from the others.
