    Good remote for the price

posted by anttinyk on 10/15/2009 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
    - Works with my Philips 17PT1563/11 TV (L7.2E chassis) - Build quality is OK, comparable to stock remotes of devices currently sold
    Cons:
    - Supports a lot of chinese domestic brands, but some more common european manufacturers missing (eg. Telefunken, Grundig). The...

    OK for the price

posted by anttinyk on 02/06/2009 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
Build quality is rather good. The manual is easy to understand, and programming channels etc. isn't hard. Has a built-in 88-108MHz WFM receiver which is quite sensitive and has a decent sound quality. DTMF tones work well, not too silent like in some of the...
    Cons:
At least the one I got wasn't the E model so it didn't have 1750Hz toneburst, so you need to whistle to get repeaters open.

    Does what it should.

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
Good build quality, a good fit on both sides when adapting flat plugs to IEC. The price is good too. Haven't tried commonwealth-style or US plugs but I suppose those fit in well also.
    Cons:
Can't think of any, really. It does what it claims to and does it well.

    A good USB card

posted by anttinyk on 09/07/2008 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
It works instantly after you plug it in at least in Windows XP and Windows 98. The build quality seems to be good.
    Cons:
The height of the connector part might be a problem for some people. In that case you'd probably be better off buying a two-por...

An okay device for the price

posted by anttinyk on 09/07/2008 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
It works, and the db25 adapter might be handy to some people.
    Cons:
It might be hard to get this one working in some alternative operating systems such as linux or *bsd. I didn't have much succes...

Cheap insurance for your M6 SP

posted by anttinyk on 08/27/2008 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
It's cheap, easy to use, and looks fairly good even on a black M6. I've been using mine for about two months now and neither the player or the case show any signs of wear. The player isn't any harder to use with the case. It does cover the power/play/pause ...
    Cons:
No major issues. The belt holes on the back are useless for me, so I could do without them. Perhaps they are useful for some pe...

    A nice adapter

posted by anttinyk on 08/27/2008 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
This is probably one of the most sturdy adapters I've seen. The USB cable is detachable, meaning that you can replace it easily if it breaks, and the device is covered in rubbery plastic. The connectors seem to be of good quality, too. The chipset is the Pr...
    Cons:
It's a bit more expensive than some of the other adapters... but not really much.
