    Ideal keychain light

posted by aurispector on 05/15/2011 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
Surprisingly bright, pretty much as small as possible for a 123 light. Extremely simple. Can go everywhere with you on your keychain.
    Cons:
The hole where the lanyard attaches is weak and broke on both of mine. I drilled new ones that have held up. Too expensive for...

    Near perfect EDC light

posted by aurispector on 04/05/2011 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
Extremely bright for a little pocket clip light. Solid build quality, Mode switch and memory work well. Works on a AA if needed but far brighter with 14500. Bright white, almost blueish light. Glass lens. All threads sealed with O rings.
    Cons:
Useless strobe mode. Possibly a bit longer than it really needs to be, but length is probably dictated by battery size.

    Eastward YJ Cree XM-L T6

posted by aurispector on 03/28/2011 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
Solid quality look and feel. Extremely bright white emitter. Deep narrow aluminum smooth reflector makes for a tight thrower. Excellent anodizing including on threads. Single rubber/silicone seals at joints. Forward clicky switch includes momentary mode ...
    Cons:
3 mode hi- lo- strobe. The low mode is too bright. I personally do not like strobe modes. Hi - med- low or just hi- lo would...

    Excellent value, bright and lightweight

posted by aurispector on 04/01/2010 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
Extremely bright. Small form factor - no huge reflector to deal with & easily pocketable. Tight beam, good throw. Very white light.
    Cons:
None so far. Tight beam might limit use as a bike light, but everything is a compromise - good throw means relatively poor flo...

As good as the best USB cable on the market.

posted by aurispector on 07/29/2009 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
I experienced thrills of joy when I received this cable. Slowly, I peeled away the plastic baggy revealing inch after sexy inch of USB goodness. From the supple, satin black vinyl coating the the gleaming metal contacts I knew this cable and I were destined...
    Cons:
Little did I know this bitch of a cable would eagerly "plug in" to any USB port around. I come home one day and she w...

Not the best in it's class

posted by aurispector on 07/29/2009 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
When it worked, it was pretty bright but nowhere near the manufacturer claimed 900 lumens. 5 mode momentary clicky but does not seem to have memory. Overall construction seems decent.
    Cons:
My wife bought me this as a gift so I wound up with two. BOTH appear to have defective driver circuits that initially worked we...

Pretty good light but probably not 900 lumens

posted by aurispector on 07/29/2009 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
It's brighter and smaller than sku 22574. Fairly small, compact design. All aluminum construction. Machining is excellent, parts have a tight fit, all O-rings intact should be watertight. Finish is flawless. 2 mode hi/low clicky feels solid but has no mem...
    Cons:
Does not seem to be anywhere near 900 lumens. I have 2 Q5 lights which are almost as bright - sku 16844 & 13974. The emitte...

    Not very good

posted by aurispector on 06/23/2009 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
Makes sparks if you stroke it correctly. No, not THAT way you perverted twit! Well, maybe if you were talking about your MOM! Oh, yeah I went there!
    Cons:
Sparks are pretty, but futile. I was unable to ignite charcoal lighter fluid with this item. Unlike your mom, who gets hot and...

Too good for it's own good

posted by aurispector on 06/23/2009 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
Powerful optic and shatter resistant plastic, together at last. But not really in a good way.
    Cons:
Small distorted focal area surrounded by funhouse blur. Not really useful due to excess image distortion.

    Burn things and transport data

posted by aurispector on 06/23/2009 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
You can set fires yeh fire fire fire burn burn FIRE!!!! Oh, it stores data, too. And it makes fire. Not some piddly little flame but a blue-hot pinpoint inferno that could melt solder or your enemies' flesh.
    Cons:
Crappy slide mechanism for USB doesn't lock well. Try to insert the USB stick into a socket and it retracts leaving you baffled...
