    Good lighterr

posted by avester on 04/12/2009 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
Man, I don't know where to even start. As you can see this is smaller and a lot more stylish than the other bricks found here. I haven't seen many lighters (not mini-torches) that have the cool jet-flame capable of melting stuff up. Secondly, the cover slid...
    Cons:
You need a screwdriver to adjust the flame, and you never have a screwdriver when you need to adjust the flame.

    Plug converter

posted by avester on 04/12/2009 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
Hey, look man, I'm an expert with these plug converters, so you know that you are talking to the right person when you are talking with me. First of all, the amperage rating is cast to the black casing of this beast. It states some number, but that doesn't...
    Cons:
What did I just tell you

    Good knife

posted by avester on 04/12/2009 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
Very good price. Quite good handle for being so short. It gives good support to your pinky at the bottom and your thumb is held well in place with the saw-blade like cutting at the front. Also I like the black style with this knife, the holster is black, an...
    Cons:
The whistle pops out of the case so you can't carry this around your leg (if you want to for some reason) easily, but a bit of ...

    Decent charger

posted by avester on 04/12/2009 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
Quite good, charges my CR123 and 18650. Can charge 2 cells at the same time Comes with the charger, you can use the nokia-charger too if you want to.
    Cons:
US-plug, and you need the converter to other countries. Luckily it accepts 240v too so you can use just the plug converter. Qui...

    Mount

posted by avester on 04/12/2009 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
Well, you can use these to strap almost anything to almost anything. I use these to strap a flashlight to my gun, and it's better than weaver-mount as I can easily detach the light without any tools for other usage.
    Cons:
You can't use these to mount to the bike, as you need the 90" angle on it, sadly DX didn't have them when I bought these. ...

    Batteries

posted by avester on 04/12/2009 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
They are cheap. They have worked for many months for me now The colour is nice. You can put 4 of them together to get enough power to overdrive a 14v xenon quite nicely. (Whiter light!)
    Cons:
I bought 8, 3 of them leaked, won't hold charge, or looked like they would explode anytime soon, or all of them. DX luckily sen...

    Decent enough

posted by avester on 04/12/2009 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
It gives off more light than the 12-led flashlight, and this fits to all wf-501 series lights. Voltage range allows me to use this in the WF-501D light with 2x 18650, giving me a nice amount of runtime.
    Cons:
Some smudges and a tiny scratch at the reflector, but nothing that bad.

    Solid knife

posted by avester on 11/01/2008 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
Very dark-coloured knife Tanto blade No saw-blade, can be a con but we don't cut ropes every day. You can get a lot better grip than with the other knifes with this due to the a lot better shaped handle Belt-clip, but that can easily be taken out if you do...
    Cons:
The latch at the handles gets quite loose by time

    Cables with Connectors

posted by avester on 10/25/2008 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
Cables, good in strenght. Did I mention that the friction tightened connector doesn't bent? Oh hey, the colors are two, Red and Black, so you like it too. Stranded copper wire, gauge unknown, But it'll last more current than you know. With a ziplock bag, th...
    Cons:
None really, but You can't put the cable the wrong way, but that's very good for most people, you don't want to get them mixed ...

    Good light, weak mount

posted by avester on 10/25/2008 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
The light is pretty good, and accepts many 3xAAA battery "clips" from other flashlights here. Bright enough for most applications, isn't too bright. (It looks kinda silly if you throw more light on a bike than a search helicopter)
    Cons:
The mount broke when I tried to tighten it, I didn't even use much force, very weak plastic It also holds the light quite wobbly
