Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
Small, versatile. Generates waveforms from scratch or manipulates incoming ones. Graphing functions visualize the waveform being output on the built-in dot matrix display. Combined with an oscilloscope of the same brand the device becomes a signal duplicato...
    Cons:
Important specs omitted by DX: Max output voltage is 20V. For anything above that you'll require a separate signal booster (whi...

posted by bestenemy on 07/27/2011 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
Best beginner oscilloscope on the market as of 2011. Has the exact same internal structure as the upper level 100MHz oscilloscope and can be upgraded to that level with a firmware tweak (look it up). Worth every dollar!
    Cons:
There's no 110V power cord in the package. No USB cables or BNC up-link. The probes are a bit cheap. may consider upgrading tho...

    Pros:
Can't go any smaller than that. Records video with sound and takes picture. Intuitive 2-button operation. Looks exactly like a car alarm remote. Rigid and lite. Can survive a fall without getting damaged. When plugged into the computer the device doubles as...
    Cons:
Timestamp gets embedded into footage and stills (bottom right corner). Don't know if there's a way to get rid of it. Battery do...

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
Works like a brand name battery and is a little bit liter.
    Cons:
Capacity is slightly lower than that of the original battery pack. Due weight difference I assume a smaller lithium cell was pu...

    Pros:
Straight to the point design with nothing extra. Nice and compact.

posted by bestenemy on 05/14/2011 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
Cheaper than brand name competition. Stackable ring. Solid construction. Even coverage. Good item for beginners to have in lens kit.
    Cons:
Hue shift towards purple is quite significant. Stacking multiple filters exacerbates the issue. I'd not recommend using more th...

    Basic filter

posted by bestenemy on 05/14/2011 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
Basic neutral density filter. Works with stock lenses that come with Canon 550D (Rebel T-series) camera. Cheap and solid.
    Cons:
Purple tint becomes apparent if you stack multiple filters together. Otherwise discoloration is minimal compared to other ND fi...

    Pros:
Very handy and tiny. Cheaper than any other wired or wireless trigger you'll be able to find on the net.

Hard to go wrong with a device so straight forward. No complaints other than having to wait for the device to restock. I guess ...

    Good for basic alignment

posted by bestenemy on 02/02/2011 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
Tiny, compared to other line/cross lasers. Lines are sharp and solid center to edge.
    Cons:
I bought 2 of these and both had slightly misaligned prisms, meaning the lines weren't 100% perpendicular and their length was ...
