    Just what I needed

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
These are just what is found inside a router with an extarnal antenna. You can use this to connect external antenna's instead of the antennas that are inside your router. Or even make an external connection on a laptop. Most Wifi cards use the tiny IPx/IPEX...
    Cons:
None, it just does what it should do.

    It works fine

posted by bigricesack on 04/16/2010 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:less than 1 day

    Pros:
It fits my laptop. It works well with Linux. It does 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz (didn't test 5 GHz).
    Cons:
It does have the tiny MCX connector and the big connector. The DX photo shows two tiny MCX connectors, but there is only really...

    Unique compound

posted by bigricesack on 02/09/2010 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:less than 1 day

    Pros:
It is a thermally conductive glue that probably does not dry out in the tube. I believe that from the forum, but also because it just comes with the cap (no seal to pierce).
    Cons:
None - maybe the big tube. A smaller tube for a smaller price would be nice for some buyers.

    Bright and waterproof

posted by bigricesack on 01/22/2010 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:less than 1 day

    Pros:
This is a very sturdy light that runs on a single AA battery, alkaline or NiMH. It is watertight, with a rubber cap over the switch and rubber O-rings for the front glass and the other threads. It gives a lot of light, and with the Cree led it is probably e...
    Cons:
The switch is a bit fiddly. It is too easy to depress it a little, and the light changes to the next mode.

    Accurate thermometer

posted by bigricesack on 01/08/2010 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:less than 1 day

    Pros:
It is very accurate: ice sludge reads at 0.1 degree C. It takes a measurement every 2 seconds. When going from cold to hot (or the other way) expect around 20 seconds for the temperature to read exactly.
    Cons:
The point is not too sharp. This is safe but it may be difficult to stick into meat beacause of this. Cake and chicken should b...

Focuses light into a narrow line

posted by bigricesack on 01/08/2010 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:less than 1 day

    Pros:
This lens performs a function that is otherwise hard to find: it focuses light into a line or rectangular shape. This is good for a bike light, were you want to be visible from front left and right but do not care much about being visible from above or belo...
    Cons:
The lens needs some distance from the LED: approximately a centimeter between LED dome and the back of the holder. The problem ...

    Good reflector

posted by bigricesack on 12/16/2009 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:less than 1 day

    Pros:
Gives a nice beam and seems to be very efficient. Seems excellent for flashlights or spots (it has a narrow beam).
    Cons:
Not so easy to mount; there are no screw holes or another easy way to get grip on the reflector. With LED sku.13612 the beam ce...

    Tiny and good quality

posted by bigricesack on 12/16/2009 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
This LED power supply is very small, is CE marked and tested, and seems of good build quality. I use it to drive 3 RGB LEDs in series (sku.4530), green directly connected, blue with 8.2 ohm in series and red with 3.9 ohm in series for each LED. This gives a...
    Cons:
Works with 2 or 3 LEDs. With one, it just blinks. I didn't try more than 3.

Looks better in real than on pictures

posted by bigricesack on 11/17/2009 Certified Owner

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
It is a sharp knife, sharper than my french steel knife it is replacing. The plastic handle has a matte coating, which makes it look better than on the pictures. For a good knife the price is ok.
    Cons:
The packaging warns that is shouldn't be abused as general tool or for cutting frozen or bony foods. I think because ceramic is...
