Not a Xenon Fan, but now I'm converted

posted by cam94z28 on 08/03/2007 Certified Owner

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
This is an insane light! The output rated here is not quite right. It has been rated elsewhere in the area of 220 lumens. Being used to the dull yellow-orange color that most low power Incandescent flashlights put out, I was surprised when the color was ...
    Cons:
Heats up after running for more than a few minutes. It has never got hot enough to burn me, but it should be used as needed wit...

    Great Deal on Unprotected Cells

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
Work Great in Ultrafire WF-602D 1xCR123A. Provides great output, a decent runtime, and drives the CREE fairly hard.
    Cons:
No protection circuit. Be careful not to let flashlight or other device drain these completely, or even dim significantly befor...

    Good, Versatile Charger

posted by cam94z28 on 06/21/2007 Certified Owner

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
As others have said "This Just Works." It's pretty foolproof, and works very well on UnProtected LIR RCR123A's. I have tried purposely inserting fully charged, or very slightly drained batteries, and the light stays green (not charging) so it is a...
    Cons:
Charge time could be a little faster. It is still a fast charger, but I was hoping for under an hour on two 123A's. The conn...

Disappointed, but can't complain for the price.

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
Pretty bright for up close, or work within short range. Brighter than 5mm multi-led lights.
    Cons:
Not all that bright, but still much brighter than 5mm multi-led. LED off-center, good for up close, low output at a distance. R...

    Very bright for its size

posted by cam94z28 on 06/11/2007 Certified Owner

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
Very bright on a single LIR RCR123, and the DSD charger. Very good focus and beam pattern out of the box. Surprising output for a light this small. Will fit into the palm of your hand.
    Cons:
The only cons are a lack of a dim mode, and the threads are kind of hard to get started when screwing the cap on. Wish it had...
