Very nice. First water tight DX light ever!

posted by carbine15 on 01/13/2010 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:less than 1 day

    Pros:
Thin body (read width-efficient design). Actually comes with properly sized o-rings installed (double on the head and double on the tail) They even came with lubrication! I've never seen that before from a DX KD light. Threads are clean and well machined to...
    Cons:
Heavy and long. 10mm longer than my shortest 18650 light. I guess this allows for longer cells and that deeper reflector. Gets ...

Bloodwood handle. Steel full tang blade.

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
Very solid construction of Bloodwood http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bloodwood and steel. Small and concealable. Impossible to break with one hand. Holds an edge fairly well.
    Cons:
Mine came unsharpened. Very rough edges on the wood make for an uncomfortable grasp. A little sandpaper and sharpening stone wo...

Needs O-rings and a larger lens.

posted by carbine15 on 11/13/2009 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
Size efficient. Easy to slip into your pocket and forget its there especially with winter coming. Well thought out design. Nothing extraneous and fully functional. Good bright light. Enough to turn off my streetlights (great thrower) Simple on...
    Cons:
Lens is 2mm too small to make this light waterproof. Need a larger lens. Missing internal o-rings on the driver/emitter pill. M...

    Good 18650 for the price.

posted by carbine15 on 11/08/2009 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
Plastic lens is very well protected from damage from the very deep bezel. Finish is durable and does not rub off. Bezel is standard P60 size and accepts all standard drop ins. The drop in used in this light is too big for any other light but fits this light...
    Cons:
Strobe. The drop in used in this light is too big for any other light but fits this light tightly so heat sinking is improved. ...

Tiny AAA bright tough finish, dirty beam

posted by carbine15 on 02/05/2009 Certified Owner

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
Clicky! Finally a AAA clicky with decent ouput that's also very size efficient to battery type. Lens is glass and very hard to scratch. Finish appears to be HA III hard anodize, a rarity for a DX light. The clicky works every time and you can use the tail s...
    Cons:
The clicky feels flimsy and weak (though its probably not going to break. The quick detatch strap is useless on a light this t...

Hillarous fun for the whole family.

posted by carbine15 on 01/04/2009 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
The fun factor on this is amazing. I have a co-worker that always borrows my pen and keeps it. I got him back big time. Poor guy was jumping up and down and I was laughing hysterically.
    Cons:
Cheap feel. Low build quality. Might come with a near - dead battery making it useless. Best of luck to you in the new year.

    One of mine worked!

posted by carbine15 on 01/04/2009 Certified Owner

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
Good protected RCR123 cell. One of them was anyway. These are not to be used on incandescent bulbs requiring 3 volts or 6 volts (when used in series) or they will *poof* your bulb. They cannot be used on High output bulbs that draw too many amps or the circ...
    Cons:
Only one of my batteries worked. Well, the both worked at first. Then one of the protection circuits failed and would cut off o...

Glows forever (almost) but very dim

posted by carbine15 on 01/04/2009 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
Simple easy to use glows in the dark without charging. Case is sturdy enough to allow key chain carry. I got mine when it was cheaper!
    Cons:
Very Very very very very dim. I have trouble finding a dark enough room to see this glow. I guess it'd be good to attach to a f...

    Awesome, simply awesome!

posted by carbine15 on 01/04/2009 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
The single best replacement to LuX I and Lux III emitters that aren't already soldered to a star. For the same watts you get double output or for the same output you use half the watts. The choice is clear.
    Cons:
Gummy dome. Just be careful. Polarity - just be careful and test the emitter for a split second before installing. Fragile unti...

    Wave Functions!

posted by carbine15 on 12/27/2008 Certified Owner

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:less than 1 day

    Pros:
This is an almost perfect copy of an Emerson Commander complete with Emerson logo on the blade. It even came in an Emerson box. This copy could fool anyone not knowledgeable in the nuances of the Emerson. The sample I got was smooth opening and the wave fun...
    Cons:
The first thing I noticed was that the blade was not perfectly sharpened. It looked like it had been used to hack at rocks befo...
