    Superb grease!

posted by cowana on 12/31/2011 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
This is really great stuff! It is very thick and sticky grease that makes flashlight threads feel extreamly high quality. I've also used it on O-rings in watches - the stickiness makes it ideal for holding the O-ring in place as the back is screwed on. Exc...
    Cons:
Not the cheapest product, and a very small tub. But I think the quality makes up for that!

Not bad for the size or cost

posted by cowana on 12/31/2011 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
This is a very small, ecxellent little torch for DIY etc. It is easily filled with butane (using the default adaptor on my can). The torch is self igniting - pressing the button makes a spark and it lights. It's quite a hot flame - nowehere near as hot a...
    Cons:
Mine seems to have a dodgy regulator - it blows out very easily and needs to be relit. I think this is just a one off fault th...

    Good - if yours works

posted by cowana on 09/06/2010 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
This torch is really bright, with a nice beam pattern This torch runs the LED at its maximum power - it gets pretty warm and is giving out as much light as possible The body of the torch is nice and tough The torch is fully waterproof - I've had it running ...
    Cons:
It could be cheaper (although at $22 it is a good deal)

    An excellent cloth

posted by cowana on 09/06/2010 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
Er, it's a cloth... But not only a cloth - this is a real magnet for dirt and oil - it does wonders on laptops, phones... anything shiny that you want clean. Seems to be genuine 3M, comes in a little case (not sure why), and is pretty big. I wouldn't mind ...
    Cons:
Too big to fit in a pocket easily, but that's not really a con - it is nice and big.

    Excellent lens

posted by cowana on 05/25/2010 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
Fits a 502B perfectly. Exactly 28mm. Makes a REALLY tight beam. Throws a very long way. High quality glass. No imperfections. There is a flange at the edge to sit against the O ring. Cheap!
    Cons:
Only that the torch can't be balanced on the head any more - the lens is 10mm thick.

    A nice little electronics tool

posted by cowana on 05/25/2010 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
A nice tool to have if you do surface mount electronics and lay your own solder paste. A variety of nozzles included mean you can pick up lots of different chips - I think anything larger than a SOIC-8. For smaller devices (such as a SOT-23), you'd be bett...
    Cons:
None, really. It could be a bit easier to press the button, but then it wouldn't suck as hard.

The best cells I have bought

posted by cowana on 05/25/2010 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
Portection circuit (I've never tried it, though) High current ability High capacity Come wrapped in pastic, so no sticky tape residue from the packaging They look awesome Larger than standard 18650 - means they don't rattle in my 502B
    Cons:
Larger than standard - they might not fit some torches. Negative terminal scratched by spring Shrink wrap a bit dodgy
