    These are NOT 'mini' servos!

posted by cragv on 04/09/2013 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
For a full-size servo, it was cheap. Recognisable brand on the label, too.
    Cons:
This isn't a 'Mini' servo as the title says, so having just purchased two, they're going straight into the forgotten parts draw...

Works but not 'child safe' without mods

posted by cragv on 03/02/2013 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
Works as advertised; plastic plugs snugly into Australian wall outlets and the 'key' is sturdy enough that it won't snap without significant abuse (eg. bending it whilst extracting a plug from the socket).
    Cons:
Choking hazard, even when used correctly!! Each plug is comprised of 2 pieces of plastic; the body of the plug which includes t...

Have stood the test of time

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
Lights are bright, consistent, thin (when removed from Alu enclosure), easy to work with. Reasonable power draw too, which is great.
    Cons:
Solder points where the wire connects are poor quality. I used copper braid to remove the solder from the points completely, th...

    Perfect! Much cheaper than locally.

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
EXCELLENT product. Appears to be the same as what my local (Australian) electronics store sells for $13.95 (for ONE). These are quality, appear to be genuine WEITUS and are strong. Even the packaging is sufficiently protective to ensure the tips always arri...
    Cons:
No cons, these seem to be the real deal.

    Useful; works as expected

posted by cragv on 04/15/2012 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
Flux amount is adequate; more would be nicer but this generally isn't available on the cheaper copper braids from any brand. Certainly enough to work with. Temps don't need to be very high at all to work.
    Cons:
For the price, there are no cons really. I'd like to be able to buy a 50m roll of the stuff to save me ording multiples with re...

    No instructions?

posted by cragv on 11/16/2009 Certified Owner

Involvement:Novice (still getting used to it) - Ownership:less than 1 day

    Pros:
Exactly as per the picture, seems to be well made (cheap, but sturdy enough considering the price). Comes in a nice box with multiple paper 'reeds' (the part which presumably makes the sound).
    Cons:
Can't use it! Doesn't come with instructions, so there is no way to work out how to 'set it up'. This info would at least be us...
