TRULEY SUBERB! Very good quality. :-)

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
This company has thought of EVERYTHING! There are so many little bits to it that make crimping a breeze. For example, near the handles on the inside there are some blades. Not 1, not 2, but 3 sets. A cutter for cutting cable clean off, a cable for removing ...
    Cons:
Doesn't make toast! :-D Forget the cheap, crappy yellow cutter thing, the cutter on the crimper is better!

A fun little gadget, but not really much point

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
It's made from quite thick aluminium, painted black. I'm guessing this is so the whole thing can act like a heatsink. However I've not had it on for more than 1 min at a time. Blocks WiFi and Mobiles for definite here in the UK (O2 network and BT HomeHub t...
    Cons:
No UK adapter, however the ones included seem to be nokia style (the older ones with the bigger plug). So you can easily pick t...

Fantastic for small items - electronics?!?!

posted by danielbriggs on 12/07/2007 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
You can keep adding more and more of these together. I'm slowly building an electronics 'wall' of these, to hold a couple of resistors, capacitors, diodes etc. as I only have a few of each, there is plenty of space. Modulate well with the 20x yellow small ...
    Cons:
You should be able to buy particular colours individually, not the 'pot luck' guess. They are no way near heavy duty, but are ...

Replace all your batteries with these!

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
Nice, clean batteries with a good mAh and protection circuit. You need to give them a good 1st charge though.
    Cons:
You have to be careful with what items you put these into, as some devices can't take the extra mm or two (due to the protected...

Good, but should be available separately

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
No logo! I'd much rather have the ones without the logo, and from the photos it looked like a cheap sticker anyway. So, that's good! Quite a firm click to them, I don't think they would unclick themselves, unless they had an excessive force or extended wear.
    Cons:
Again, the Ultrafire CR123A's (Grey ones) don't fint, you have to take a kife an cut off the plastic lip.

    Great cheap little items.

    Pros:
Cheap, light, and does what it should! They crimp very well and make a secure connection both on the cable grip and the data pins, if you use a decent crimper. I suggest SKU: 3530, as it is a very good crimper.
    Cons:
These are a bugger to make sure that you get the strands the correct way around. Also you can't push the cable out of the top e...

A Great Little Tool if you make you own cables!

posted by danielbriggs on 12/07/2007 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
A good little device, which enables you to check if you've crimped the connectors on correctly on your Cat5e cables. This way, you can be sure that they should work when you connect them. When you switch it on, it runs through each of the pins in sequence,...
    Cons:
Without the battery in, it feels a bit cheap, but after the 9V batt. is added, it gives it more 'weight'. At first the rj45 po...

Great torch - but makes an even better laser case

posted by danielbriggs on 11/19/2007 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
A nice, matt black, lightweight (without batteries) torch that performs well, due to the high power star (Luxeon) emitter. Quite a rugged appearance, but this might not be true in performance. i.e. if you keep dropping it! But it does look the part at leas...
    Cons:
The CR123A's are not as common as say, AA or AAA's here in the UK, and hence more expensive to run in the long term. However, t...

A good, cheap screen protector :-)

posted by danielbriggs on 11/12/2007 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
A nice screen protector for you shiny new iPod touch! Yes, it does have the cut out for the home button. I'd strongly reccomend getting one, as you are going to be putting your grubby mits all over your iPod, so this will stop the screen getting damaged!
    Cons:
Loose the Chinese text everywhere and mis-leading image of an iPaq on the front of the packaging, and it's perfect!

Suberb for laptop and LCD screens

posted by danielbriggs on 11/12/2007 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
These cloths are the *best* possible things you can clean your screen with. I had a blue one similar to this that came free with an LCD screen, and I used it to death! I've been trying to find a replacement ever since, and this 3M one is it!!! When cleanin...
    Cons:
Pink colour - Blue would have been the cherry on the cake!
