Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
None I can think of, really.
    Cons:
-Output very overrated. Measured at ~220 OTF lumens in integrating sphere. I have an old XR-E Q5 drop-in that's brighter than t...

Once you try it, you will never go back.

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
-Neutral white 5A bin emitter -Excellent color rendition outdoors compared to common cool white LEDs -A quite respectable output: 185 lumen out of the front (measured in a Surefire 9P on 2 li-ion cells). -decent beam without very pronounced rings -fits some...
    Cons:
-The head does not screw all the way down, leaving a 2mm gap (a cosmetic issue, really).

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
-nice thrower, intense hotspot (5500 lux @1m) -nice white tint with a only a little bit of blue, appears to be on a cooler side of WG color bin (your results may vary) -fits Surefire C2 with no gap (no outer spring) -runs cool -flat regulation -wide voltag...
    Cons:
-white wall test shows a greenish-yellowish ring around the hotspot (typical for Q-bin Cree emitters). -Not too too great circu...

    A kickass emitter!

posted by dark1 on 10/30/2007 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:less than 1 day

    Pros:
Bright and efficient. Good tint, very white. Did I say BRIGHT?? According to my lightmeter readings, at only 700 mA this thing puts out more light than a P4 Cree at 1000mA - with less heat to boot!
    Cons:
The emitter had a tiny air bubble underneath the dome. Does not affect the performance, really.

    A very flexible driver board

posted by dark1 on 10/15/2007 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
A boost/buck type regulator board that provides good regulation with wide variety of battery chemistries. Provides flat regulation on lithium primaries or li-ion rechargeables, yet can suck regular alkalines dry.
    Cons:
I can only wish upper voltage limit was higher than 4.7V so it could be used for two cell lights.

    Excellent glow rings

posted by dark1 on 10/13/2007 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
I was pleasantly surprised with these. They appear to be using higher quality glow agent, probably Strontium Aluminate, that provides very long duration of glow - enough to last all night. The material of the o-rings themselves is nice, soft silicone rubber.
    Cons:
I can only wish they were available on more sizes.
